Stoke me a clipper.
Can someone explain to me what is the desired goal so we will take Montreal pick and what exactly that pick is? Thanks in advance.
I think if the Flames make the playoffs along with Florida, Montreal gets the higher of the two picks.

There are other scenarios but this is looking more and more likely.

I only lasted the first 2 periods, was really tired and crashed down at 4am...watched highlights 3 hrs later...I expected us to turn this around. Wolf has been the most impressive and consistent contributor since the start of the season. Really pleased for him and proving me wrong- long may it continue.

Can someone explain to me what is the desired goal so we will take Montreal pick and what exactly that pick is? Thanks in advance.

  • If Both Calgary and Florida’s 2025 Picks are Outside the Top 10: Montreal will receive the earlier of Calgary’s or Florida’s 2025 first-round pick.
  • If Calgary’s Pick is in the Top 10 and Florida’s is Outside: Montreal will receive Florida’s 2025 first-round pick.

Ideally we either want Calgary to finish either high enough that we got to see good hockey and great development from our young players or bottom 10 in the league, so we get to use our high draft pick and they get Floridas and we want Florida to not finish bottom 10 so there isn't a bunch of weird they get our 2026 pick rules at play.

Says more about the division IMO, only 2 teams have a positive goal differential.

While division basically...

You know what? Let's go on a Cinderella run and really piss of Montreal. Give them something 20+ Let's fall back to earth next year.

The absolute irony when we keep our pick and give them Florida’s, not because we finish bottom 10, but because we finish higher in the standings than Florida

Sorry to be slow, if our pick is i.e. no 11 and Florida's no 12 and above- Montreal is taking our pick, correct?

If our pick is up to top 10 and Florida's 11th and above, Montreal gets their pick, correct?

Also, did we give Montreal 1st round pick for taking Monahan plus the above pick or just the above 1 pick?

Thanks all.

correct

Montreal gets just the pick (likely) going this year, if we send a pick next year (Calgary and Florida both finish bottom 10 this season) then we add another draft pick in the 4th round this year.
