From the outside looking in, I don't think these are entirely click bait rumors. I do believe the Ducks could move Zegras but they are looking for a hockey trade to help in another area.

How many times are these second-rate, clickbaity, BS artists at The Fourth Period going to return to this dead horse? Zegras is not going to be traded, no matter how frequently they try to create the illusion that he's on the block. Not happening. Move on.
Anyone who was at Honda Center the other night and saw that disgusting, game-winning redirect fly past Oettinger knows the Ducks are a different (better) team with him on the ice. Trading him would be malpractice, akin to the Mavs trading Luka.

What area? They are good with D and goalies. They need dynamic offensive talent. Zegras is dynamic offensive talent. Is someone going to trade a better offensive talent for Zegras?
We are 1 game below .500 so I’d say not in lose now mode at all. Doesn’t mean we are win now mode either though. It’s not one or the other.
I dont think anyone is saying Zegras is untouchable, and PV SHOULD listen to offers on everyone as a team this bad.
But the only way it makes sense is it they upgrade to a better forward, like Tkachuk or someone like that. It makes no sense to trade him for defense when the Ducks are already scratching 1 of their young defensemen every game because they have too many.
This idea that they are trying to get his offensive numbers up to showcase him and up his trade value is hilarious. They are trying to win. They want him to produce to help them win.
Greg Cronin sucks. None of the Ducks young offensive players have taken a step forward, and most have taken a step back. It is a coaching problem.
Not to mention he missed training camp last year and has had a few injuries. When he is in the lineup he makes a huge impact on the overall team's offensive outlook.

Ah yes, the team that has so many young defensemen that we're shipping off vets to make room for them and that is starving for offense is going to trade a young forward for a 30yo d-man.

Z's great. Unfortunately, he's not much of a goal scorer himself, but he constantly creates opportunities and sets up his teammates. He's by far our best playmaker and most creative forward.
It's easy to see that point-per-game potential if his linemates start scoring more consistently — whether it's Carlsson, McTavish, Gauthier, or Sennecke — along with improvements to the power play.
