Hell of a PK'er, continuously called the best leader on the Avalanche and is good for 35-40 points a year. Why not??

The last thing I thought anyone would call Blake Comeau is "the best leader". Wow, he must have really changed.

Comeau and Beauchemin were the two biggest leaders on the team according to Roy last year. He said Comeau was fantastic in the dressing room.

He must be nice, because he was also voted most likely to concuss a teammate unintentionally.

I'm kidding... Kind of.

Yeah that sounds about right.

It's kind of funny yet it isn't. :squint:

Comeau was so weird with us.

He was enigmatic his first couple of years, but then in 2010-11 he was really, really good. He had 24 goals, had nice chemistry with Bailey. Then, out of nowhere, he played like garbage for 16 games in 2011-12. He had zero points, and I'm not sure how many games it took, but for a very long time he wasn't even on the ice for a goal.

I've always stood by that I believe Brian Rolston's piss-poor attitude ruined Comeau, who was already an iffy teammate at that point. Rolston was a lazy, unproductive, terrible teammate who put the blame for his ass season on the rest of the Islanders and not himself. He played on our first unit PP at the point where he excelled early in his career, and put up 9 points all season with no PP goals. Then he goes to the Bruins, where he's much more productive in a much smaller amount of games, and tells the media he should have gotten more PP time. Something about that attitude, I think, bled into Comeau. I have no evidence to prove that, it's just a hunch, but they did play on the same line. Rolston will always be my least favorite Islander ever.

Nice to see that Comeau turned it around in Colorado, but from an Islanders fan's perspective it blows my mind that he's considered a good teammate.

He was also 25 back then. A person can change a lot in the years between being 25 and 30.

I thought Comeau was overrated and only did well because he was on the Penguins and leeched off Crosby + Malkin. I was definitely wrong, he was great for us both on and off the ice.

Nothing but a class act and definitely worth his contract.

I forgot Blake Comeau existed. I need to see an Avs game ASAP now.
