Bailey is unfairly bashed by Islander fans because he was the 9th overall pick. I am guessing if he was picked in the 2nd or 3rd round people would accept him as is.

Soderberg is a good player.

When you factor age and contract length, it does change the perspective a bit. I probably rather have Soderberg this season but given Soderberg's contract I rather just stick it out with Bailey for 2 years

Soderberg just had his best season at 30. He's currently making less than $1m for every 10 points which is pretty reasonable by today's standards. He'll be 34 when he plays his last game on this contract, and he isn't overly reliant on speed or strength. I'll be surprised if it isn't a reasonable contract for the entire term. Never great, but never bad either.

We have had Bailey around too long already. Obviously this trade is never happening, but Josh needs to go. The only thing he excels at is being indecisive.

I'm not a Bailey fan at all, but the difference between him and Soderberg isn't Beauvilier/Pulock. Maybe someone like Pelech or Mayfield, but not one if our top prospects.

I'm actually interested in Bailey on the Avs, have been for awhile, just not at the cost of Soderberg. If he's really that valueless to the Isles, take Cody McLeod or Blake Comeau for him.

Do you have a solid AHL center? Doesn't have to have much NHL potential (maybe a little), but we need one to play between MDC and Ho-Sang. I'd assume Compher is way off the table, yes? I'm a Michigan fan and I wouldn't trade him unless it really made sense.

Avs can't afford Bailey unless 2+ mil is going the other way.
