Ok, crazy take here by me.
I know this is not going to happen, but I’m now curious if it is within the rules of happening…
Can a backup goalie shed the majority of his equipment, and then participate in the shootout as a shooter?
I guess I’m looking at a rare “Shohei Ohtani” player who can give you at least AHL level goalie back-up play. Then also a wicked sick sweet saucy lit (whatever slang kids use for superlatives these days) shootout goal.
You hide your shootout specialist in a third string goalie, who plays every game as the backup to the top two.
Now that is some Snow/Dubas melding progressive thinking right there!
