The small forward addiction in MTL is so real, we need players with size. Didn’t the series against Washington teach us anything?

Sheary's cap hit is basically buried and comes off the books next year anyway. No reason to package with Howard. I think a lot of teams are beating this offer in TB's eyes by dangling a decent defensive prospect.

Teams might make a decent offer (better than the second round compensation) if they get to talk to Howard and he agrees to sign before the trade. Otherwise it’s too much of a risk to offer more than the compensation. Howard is one season from picking his nhl team. That has to be a concern to any club.

Saw a "player profile" type bit on Howard and he listed his favorite team growing up at Minnesota, also reportedly wants to play closer to home. I feel he is shooting for the Wild by not signing with Tampa.
