He's been a shell of former self this season . He's only got 33 points , for instance, Kuznetsov has more assists than Parise points

What happened to him ?

I think he's been playing with an injury for quite some time and since he basically decides if he plays or not he decided it isn't bad enough to keep him out of the line up. He was looking like his usual self before the Neal hit him awkwardly in the back of the knee.

Hasn't been himself since his injury earlier this season.

To be honest he looked pretty good vs the Caps, was tenacious as hell and seemed to keep every other impossible loose puck alive in the o-zone. Granted, i didn't watch the whole game.

A lot of Wild players are underperforming this year, and the team's hard struggles just make it worse. And like people mentioned he's had a tough year injury-wise, i doubt he's been 100% healthy for most of the time.

So if you consider everything, his stats don't look absolutely terrible.

Maybe a bit, but the main problem is that he is a first line player playing with a #2/3 C( Granlund), and a player who is stealing money right now( Pominville). Now HE is a player who is in decline, big time.

The whole team has been garbage offensively the last month and a half, Zach can't do it all himself.

Just another totally random favorable comparison to a Russian player by an user who has Russia as his country :sarcasm: (don't know if he's actually Russian though).

No, I was just watching the Caps feed yesterday and a pbp guy mentioned that Kuzy has more assists that Wild top scorer Koivu

A career average of 32 goals, 34 assists, and 66 points over 82 games. He's missed a few games this year, but he would be at 31 goals, 27 assists, and 58 points in 82 games this season. Not too much of a difference.

Leads the Wild in goals and shots despite missing 9 games. His 1 goal in his last 12 games isn't helping anything, but the whole team is in the toilet right now.

Last night was perhaps the first time after his injury he has looked like his old tenacious self. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

But yeah no, don't think he's on decline yet. Just hasn't been at 100% since the injury.

You could say that every player in the league over the age of 25 is on the decline. Parise peaked in 2008. Like most players his age.

I hope he is. Enjoy your cupless career.

I actually like Parise, but certainly don't want to see him win a cup after leaving NJ, regardless of why he left.

Grow up. It's not like he demanded a trade. He wanted to be close to home and worked hard to get there. Devils and Preds fans are always so bitter about Suter and Parise..:very petty IMO. Happens to every team in professional sports. I hate to say this but why would an NHL player want to live in NJ on a team that's third fiddle in their market and has financial problems when he can return home to a hockey crazed state with no media pressure and his family. Yeah he must be a bad person.

Also he's on decline perhaps but playing with Pominville and Granlund is a big reason. Granlund has been underwhelming and Pominville one of the worst players in the NHL. Nobody is putting up good stats in that situation.

Both of these claims are false. Devils have better attendance than the Islanders AND have an owner worth a lot more money than the Wild's owner. No financial issues here buddy. Not to mention that the non-playoff Devils reportedly did the same in revenue last season as the Wild, who got playoff revenue and play in the "state of hockey" with your great attendance. Think about that...

But that's not what this is about...

I'm sad Parise left but I'm glad he got to spend time with his father before he passed. He also made a boatload of money that, at the time, we simply couldn't match. But I know he enjoyed playing in NJ and he was a great Devil. There, a Devils fan not bashing Parise. I hope he rebounds and has a great rest of his career. Now will you shut up with your ignorant hate?

Well....Typically when a TEAM struggles, player point production will go down as well. People need to stop over reacting when their team is struggling.

Case in point:
1) Ovechkin - had a bad season when his team was struggling...he's on the decline. Now he's the best Russian of all time.
2) Crosby - struggled this season when his team struggled...he's on the decline. Now he's put up 22 points in 11 games.
3) Voracek - struggled in the begging of the season with a new coach on a team with little offensive support...he's not worth his contract, he peaked, blah blah...he's been a PPG player and dominate most games since then.

Hockey is a TEAM game. That's why people shouldn't take P Kane's production numbers and say he's the BEST player in the world. Because frankly, he's not. He's having an amazing season, but so is the rest of his team. He's one of the best, no doubt about that. This is not a coincidence. Where do you think assists come from?

Would anyone honestly take Kane over Ovechkin or Crosby?

Hockey is not an individual sport, especially over a 82point season. I guarantee that if Parise was traded to a team that was successful his production would go up.

It seems to me that the Wild need a coaching change. Little success over the past few years even with a talented lineup. MOST of the time, it's a coaching/systems problem. (See Penguins, Flyers, Lightning as recent examples of coaching changes bringing success)
