On the Jim Rome show this afternoon (5/21/13), he said the following:
"I'm at the end of my career"

Should we read into this that this it for Alfie, or that he's in the trailing years of his career?

None of the above.

He will not last for multiple more years IMO, but I really think unless somehow we won the cup he will come back for one more year.

He wants to play in the Olpympics one more time.

The only way to do that is to play in the NHL next year.

I firmly believe next year will be his last.

Of course he's at the end of his career, just like Karlsson is at the beginning of his, doesn't mean the statement is for the current year.

He's got another year in him. We have the shortened season to thank for that I think, as well as our youth showing promise.

I'm sure he's looking out west to see Teemu still rocking it out. He's our leading point-getter in these playoffs and I'm sure he realizes he can still play extremely well.

If he was some bottom-pairing D or a relegated to 4th line status, I'm sure he'd seriously contemplate it. He'll be back next year.

By not getting tickets to tomorrow's game, I'm betting on Alfie playing one more year.

If not and Ottawa ends up losing in 5, it will go down as one of my great sport attendance events.

99's last game in Ottawa and not seeing a game at the forum are the only two on it so far.

Hes so flying out there right now
Of course 48 games schedule helped him but we had so many injuries that alfie had to swallow a lot more minutes then he should have
So its fair to expect him one more year at 60-65 games 15-20 min/game
And fully ready for playoff 2014
