The one on their way to a second 10+ game losing streak THAT HASN'T MADE THE f***ING PLAYOFFS IN FOURTEEN f***ING YEARS AND HAS NO f***ING HOPE AS LONG AS THE LYING CARNY SCUMBAG OWNER IS STILL ALIVE
Anyone else read this as if it was Sam Kinison saying it?

Nah, their GM is good. He does exactly what he has to, to make the team this terrible. The Flyers need to tank, and the only way to tank when your HC is Tortorella, is to make your team the worst in the league by far. Because Torts can turn even a bad team into an average one.
They also need to develop their talent and avoid setting a bad “loser” culture into the minds of the rookies.

After trading Frost, Farabee, Kuzmenko, and Laughton they don't have enough not just good players, but players good enough for the NHL.

Their best center is Cates, who wouldn't even be 3C on a good NHL team. They have 3 top6 forwards (TK, Michkov, Tippett), of who Tippett is only good for skating to the net with the puck because he doesn't see teammates if they are further than 15 feet from him. Their PP1 QB is Ristolainen, who wouldn't even be PP2 QB on most of NHL teams.

They play Deslauriers, Pelletier, Abols who aren't NHLers period. Their goalies suck, and their defense is the only part of the team that ok, if we aren't talking about PP QBing, and even then their legit top4 NHL defensemen are Sanheim, Ristolainen, and probably York. That's it.

Oh, and they play the most boring hockey in the world. I mean I watched tons of Sochi games in previous two seasons, who were the worst KHL team, and I can't watch the Flyers like at all...
Typical post from typical Michkov fan who’s angry because of Michkov’s icetime, right?

Michkov played almost 14 min vs Devils which wasn't his lowest by far, so it's ok especially for a back-to-back game, even if some people said Torts benched Matvei in the 1st for nothing... So no, this thread isn't about Michkov's TOI. It's about the team and players around him, though.

You're not wrong here, but the management kept trying to win up until last week. Torts is too good for us to tank but not good enough to actually do anything. We're doomed to an eternity of purgatorial mediocrity.

I've been a Flyers fan since 96 and I just can't be mentally invested in this team. We all knew the season was a write off before it started.

I've focused this year more on the OHL instead for the first time. So yeah I'd rather watch the Brampton Steelheads than the Flyers, that should say enough.

Let Torts cook.

I actually really like the way this team plays. They just don't have any talent.

Work on getting some with some high picks, and then fire Torts and enjoy all the puck demons he left behind.

The current results don't bear out the team being the worst in the NHL, but they might be the most unappealing. The teams below them have substantially more interesting prospects than we do, save Michkov, most of the teams above us have better current talent and put on a more watchable product, and the teams in the 5-10 range that we find ourselves in generally don't have the same level of image or ownership problems we do. (Except the Sabres, I'm sorry you're being held hostage by Pegula.)

The Flyers are a corporate rounding error run by a gaggle of former players who, through their (also former player) puppets who are young enough to stay up past Matlock, consistently strive to win the 1976 Stanley Cup. They've put together a team that is slow, plodding, overly concerned with mistake-free hockey to the point it invites mistakes, run by one of the least likeable coaches in hockey. The team's history paints us as violent to the point of dirty, a reputation they feel compelled to uphold in an era where that is a pure liability, leading to the inclusion of at least one Face McPunch person on every roster, devoid of any other measurable talent (currently Deslauriers.)

How are we looking to fix that? We've assiduously traded away everyone who feuded with the martinet in charge, whether it was for a valid reason or not, and with little regard for talent in the return. The "plan" to rebuild, as with everything else we do, is a half-measure, as while we're collecting talent, the only reason we stumbled ass-backwards into a single player who might be worthy of structuring a team around is due to a geopolitical flashpoint the likes of which hasn't been seen since the end of the Cold War. It took until literally this trade deadline for the team to move even a single player who wasn't a pending UFA, malcontent, or someone Tortorella hated for no good goddamned reason, a player who should have been traded each of the previous 4 trade deadlines, but who for some reason this team clung to as though he was as important to the franchise as Ovechkin to the Caps or Crosby to the Pens. Now that they finally have the team in something resembling a position to rebuild, they've all but declared the rebuild over, and appear to be ready to shift, years too soon, into talent acquisition mode. Oh, yeah, and only Torey Krug recognizing this dumpster fire for the career killer it is stopped us from trading away the only defenseman worth a damn on the entire roster for absolutely f***ing nothing.

On the bright side, Gritty is good.

Cates would absolutely be a terrific 3C on a good team. GTFO.

Bitching just because of Michkov. This is exactly what the franchise needs to accumulate more top picks. I have no complaints.

Look at their forwards. Celebrini, Eklund, Smith, Toffoli, and they traded Granlund and Zetterlund. I'm pretty sure Kovalenko would look very well with Michkov, much better than Tippett. And you really think Georgiev is worse than Ersson and Fedotov? Yeah, he isn't.

They don't have defensemen as good as Sanheim, and they traded away Walman, but overall their defense isn't that much worse than Flyers' if worse at all.

Their main problem is coaching, and they don't fix it because their two main goals for this season are to tank and to win Calder for Celebrini. And they're doing good so far.

And if, say, they swapped their coaches with Phily, the Sharks would have been much better team than Flyers.
So you're saying the flyers have a good coach?

But I've been told....
