Flyers will be there very soon, of course San Jose and Chicago are out of reach, Buffalo probably too. All others will be higher than Flyers very soon.

Nah, their GM is good. He does exactly what he has to, to make the team this terrible. The Flyers need to tank, and the only way to tank when your HC is Tortorella, is to make your team the worst in the league by far. Because Torts can turn even a bad team into an average one.

I realize they moved the players listed by the OP but I was kinda surprised to see where they are in terms of goals scored. There are a few teams below them I wasn't expecting to see

They scored a lot of goals right after the break, when Michkov looked fresh, and they had Kuzmenko and Laughton, but it didn't last too long.

They will have a lot of cap space this offseason. Will players agree to sign and play under Tortorella is another topic, though.

Game isn't played on paper. That team hasn't clicked for a long time and are 30th in the league while being 0-5-1 in the last 6. Like pieces they have more but it feels like we've been expecting things to click in Buffalo for a long time

It’s in the Flyers best interest to be among the bottom teams in the league. They were the definition of subpar mediocrity for like 15 years with their wheels spinning. Spending a few years at the bottom, getting high picks, and just rebuilding can’t be worse

Chicago needs to luck out with their draft picks. They've made a tonne of first rd selections recently.

Look at their forwards. Celebrini, Eklund, Smith, Toffoli, and they traded Granlund and Zetterlund. I'm pretty sure Kovalenko would look very well with Michkov, much better than Tippett. And you really think Georgiev is worse than Ersson and Fedotov? Yeah, he isn't.

They don't have defensemen as good as Sanheim, and they traded away Walman, but overall their defense isn't that much worse than Flyers' if worse at all.

Their main problem is coaching, and they don't fix it because their two main goals for this season are to tank and to win Calder for Celebrini. And they're doing good so far.

And if, say, they swapped their coaches with Phily, the Sharks would have been much better team than Flyers.

Ersson has a GSAA of -11 in 37 games and Fedotov has a GSAA of -7.4 in 19 games. Georgiev has a GSAA of -26.2 in 38 games. San Jose has had a lot of bad goalies since Jones and Georgiev is easily the least reliable.

The coach is wayyyyyyy out of touch and the GM is over his head.

Everything with the Flyers stems from problems above Briere. The head is rotten and the spoilage permeates the entire organization.
