Is there any country that has banned smoking, like completely, public & private smoking

Would you vote yes or no for 100% banning smoking in your country?

Ive done some research and i don't think there is a single country in the world that has banned smoking.

There are few countries that have super strict smoking laws and one even has put a strict laws to
selling, importing, smuggling tobacco in addition for banning smoking
for most places, but even in Bhutan, in private places, you can still smoke.
- and what i have read, the results been amazing in Bhutan, minus that last part

My personal opinion is, i would ban smoking, world wide, same for alcohol.
- passive / second hand smoking deceases are still very big issue in the word
and not to mention alcohol abuse mostly effects on other people what the actual abuser...

And yes, when i'm talking about smoking, not talking just about cigarettes and cigars.

I think its time for humankind to stop the poisoning, why wait, lets start it with these two
and attack the rest after that.

And no, i'm not some religious nut job. As a matter of fact, most religious people smoke and or drink alcohol...
its only logical to stop this nonsense of smoking and drinking alcohol.

Also no, i'm not here to ban all good n tasty food and such
- so Demolition Man references are pointless

I believe New Zealand is preparing to completely ban tobacco products being sold in the country. I guess you can watch what happens there to see how it works out. As a social smoker, I can say that if nobody else smoked, it would help me not to smoke, and I wouldn't entirely hate that. On the other hand, I find it hard to believe that people wouldn't find a way around it, and nothing tastes as sweet as the forbidden fruit.

They passed that anyone born after 2007 (might not be the exact year, it was a bit ago this was announced) would never be allowed to purchase tobacco products.

Of course there is ways around it look at hard drugs, not allowed but still around but should help over time change the social norms or smoking.

As someone who recently quit smoking (last one was Christmas day) I support getting smoking out of the normal day to day life. That being said US will never ban it.

while you're at it why not stop internet forums for allowing addicted members to sit on them all day and night posting idiotic anonymous messages into cyberspace..

This would never happen, do you realize how much the government rakes in on taxes from cigarettes alone

In regards to alcohol, that already happened before in the U.S. and we all know how that turned out

When I was a kid I was taught MJ was a gateway drug. Today politicians are moving to legalize it everywhere so they can tax it and reap more money.

Money>our lives

Pretty eye opening. Good luck trying to ban tobacco. Too much money to be made off of people's suffering

You must be a really fun guy in real life, George.

Many people live in places where breathing the air is as bad for you as smoking.
Many people live in places where drinking the water is as bad for you as alcohol.

Go to one of those places and fix that first, then come back and clamor for the abolition of chosen vices.

People have bizarre priorities these days.

Never had a drink or a cig in my life, absolutely horrified at the idea of a government banning individuals from buying and doing what they want with them though.

it will never work. just look at prohibition on alcohol and the war on drugs.

id like to see more done about vaping. especially the flavored cartridges. i dont think that stuff has been studied enough for the effects on peoples lungs.

No reason to ban tobacco. Simply stop making it with chemicals.

So what do you do on weekends etc?
