Is There A Spot on this Team for Robertson

All in all, he's a good guy to have in the press box that you can bring in to maybe add an offensive spark. But he's not an everyday player, especially in the playoffs, for this lineup. I think he's probably one of those guys that will be a 30 goal scorer on bad teams.

He has a finishing touch and he shows offensive flair once in a while (there have been several games where his line has been the most dangerous one), but he doesn't score consistently enough or have a good enough all-around game to be a regular top nine player on a good team.

He did score two goals playing on the fourth line. If he can somehow continue producing playing on that line, that would be great. But his NHL ceiling seems to be bad team scorer.

Who in our bottom 6, can produce 3+ goals in a 7 game series?
The only person that can do that is Nick Robertson.



Considering, the fact that the Leafs are usually unable to produce much offense in the Playoffs ... Robertson is going to be our most valuable bottom 6 player come the playoffs.

Yea, but why do we need both Holmberg and Kampf at the same time? Robertson should be in for either of them. What do Holmberg and Kampf so desperately bring to our lineup that we can't find a spot for Robbie?

Robertson being the most noticeable guy in our bottom 6 the last several games, really highlights exactly where our bottom 6 is at. It's just a black hole of nothingness right now.

I really liked his game in Tampa and thought he was one of the few that left Florida with a little bit of credit.

That Robertson is in my game 1 lineup.

Kampf is solid defensively but ya.. we have a bunch of offensive black holes in the bottom six and for that reason alone Robertson should play. Guy has mid teens in goals again while playing 11 minutes a night and rarely on the PP.

If mcmann is on the third line I think Robertson is in if mcmann is in the top 6 I think Robertson is out our best third line with mcmann on it is Robertson on the off wing

I don't mind him on the 4th line with limited ice time.
A goal or two from that line would be an unexpected boost.

But, I've been saying this for the better part of a decade now. Can you imagine if Robertson had Engvall's size or Engvall had Robertson's heart and effort?

Why would Holmberg play over Kampf? Kampf has generally been reliable in the playoffs and is a better player with more experience.

Same thing could be said about Laughton but supposedly he will always get a pass because of what he accomplished in Philly.

Oh wait.....what did he accomplish again in Philly? Oh....the fired coached raved about his locker room skills.....supposedly Reaves was pegged with the same traits when signed and is now with the Marlies because he just cant play the game of hockey in the NHL no longer.

We could keep Lorentz and exhange the other 5 in the bottom six and not miss a beat as none of them really move the needle. Domi has flashes and then fans rave about him and then he disappears for long stretches and its crickets from fans.

On Robertson....I like his hustle and he can score......but he just isnt strong enough on his skates and doesnt have enough led in his butt to consistently win puck battles. At least he knows how to score and we desperately need some scoring from the bottom six in the playoffs to have any success.
