THG seems like a good guy and years ago I watched/listened to quite a bit of his stuff. I’d say he’s very productive, but his it’s all very bare bones and I don’t know what I get from his videos.

Pro Hockey Alumni is a Youtube hockey account I can vouch for if you’re interested in well-made videos on interesting characters in hockey history:

Pro Hockey Alumni posts once every 3 months, I subscribe, but their output is tiny

Hard to say. When I watch him I think he's kinda too simple, usual, maybe even boring sometimes. But when I watch those who try to be special and funny, I think they look like clowns.

I'd say there is no actual top hockey youtube channel you could say "it's the best" about.

Yes but that's not saying much. I get more insight mining HF Boards in half an hour and get more depth and breadth of relevant information than the same half an hour of watching his channel.

Basically it's like if some random normal dude read you the box scores from a newspaper and at the same time scribbled on a dry erase board.

I like him. His channel has helped my understanding of the sport and the NHL.

Please love yourself more. You deserve it. :thumbu::thumbu:

Nope. He just kind of rambles on without really saying anything.

The only one I watch with any sort of regularity is Jonathan Hawkey
Pretty much this. I do think THG has the best power rankings because he watches everyone play, but he does a poor job of actually discussing why each team is placed at each spot. He's hard working and that's pretty much it.

Hockey Psychology is by far the best hockey-focused Youtuber. UrinatingTree is the best when it comes to overall sports, including hockey.

He gives zero insight and just mostly reads box scores or hockey reference. I been wanting to like his content cause he is dedicated and seems like a nice guy but it’s just so bland. There’s always more to hockey then just stats(a big problem on this forum as well)
I think he's honestly scared to give his opinions because he's too hellbent on people disagreeing with him in the comment section. That's my two cents.

You don’t fully make it until you have haters. Always embrace the hate

Best in terms of volume and catering to the broadest audience. His technical knowledge and analysis lack big time. The player career videos are always a letdown as he does very little outside of reading out the career achievements. Decent enough guy to hang around and talk surface level day-to-day hockey stuff, though (no, I've never actually done either).

I didn't watch the top 20 d-man video but just seeing the list it does seem quite terrible.

Had to vote no, but it's a preference i guess. awood40 for Red Wings is a treasure, uploads extended highlights and all kinds of compilations. But for us Finns the best is @viimeyonanarit8907 who somehow has every finnish player point uploaded when i wake up, the commitment is insane.

Personality is ideal for the format. He is attuned to trends with teams. I would trust his weekly power rankings over anyone's because he clearly absorbs watching as many games as one person can and he has no hidden agenda with it. His agenda is to be reliable

Appreciate the amount of content he puts out but it’s basically reading box scores and standings. Only thing I consistently watch is his power rankings for what it’s worth

I will say though I found his jerseys/merch vids very helpful as I am starting a little collection myself recently. I’d probably eventually would have learned about some of the eBay sellers and websites he uses but it was vital information for me personally to save some money

I like his videos, I only really watch Oiler games so I watch his recaps every morning to keep up with whats happening in the league. I think he is a great youtuber and the fact he avoids partnerships/sponsorships and clickbait is a massive + for me.

There was a poll about him in the summer and many posters said he's not very in-depth.

I've come across hockey Youtubers who offer considerably more insight.

Not sure what the handle is, but there's this Islanders fan whose videos I enjoy. He pops up in my feed from time to time. I may post the handle the next time I watch one of his vids.

I first encountered this guys videos in History Forum as some presented him as some sort of authority/expert in hockey matters. Which was slightly irritating, but ofcourse not the guys fault.

Today I watch his news of the day videos, but nothing else really. Those are not spectacular but it offers me the value that he gives me info on what has happened in NHL in neat package.

I agree that his career videos are the most disapointing because those I could enjoy to watch. I have seen that he can be quite a good story teller. He has watched hockey for quite a time. He seem to make those from his "favourite players". He has in my understanding collection of yearly books and magazines. Yet he provides totally lifeless career videos of basically reading players hockey reference page. I just feel that he could do so much better.
