THG seems like a good guy and years ago I watched/listened to quite a bit of his stuff. I’d say he’s very productive, but his it’s all very bare bones and I don’t know what I get from his videos.

Pro Hockey Alumni is a Youtube hockey account I can vouch for if you’re interested in well-made videos on interesting characters in hockey history:

He's probably the most popular, but my personal favourite is HockeyPDOcast. They are more on discussing specific players and analyzing their game.

Not to mention the highlight videos that accompany them which showcases the players strengths. For example, his Barkov mix has steals, zone entries, passes, scoring chances and defense sections.

Absolute vanilla, I don't understand what people get out of watching his videos.

He’s an excellent centralized news source. Puts out SO many videos. I’m just dying for some actual analysis though so I always leave disappointed.

HockeyPsychology has been interesting to me recently so I can vote no, but honestly youtube is not a hockey hotbed, so it’s almost a yes because there isn’t any competition.

I watch his power rankings when the Rangers are doing well and once in a while watch his recaps. But he's got no personality and adds literally nothing to his "analysis". He just describes what happened in the games and literally anyone can go on NHL.com and watch the videos of the goals. The fact that this is even a question demonstrates how poor the hockey podcasting options are.

I don´t know if he´s the best but he is certainly very likeable and i enjoy his analysis. Czech channel called Icing TV is by far the best and most professional especially Matěj Hejda, guys have connections to clubs in the NHL and are extremely funny, they are czech language only though...

Yes

I would prefer a bit more analysis from his part, but at the same time, I guess he don't want to deal with f***ing morons blasting him in the comment section because they didn't like something he said

I agree with everyone here. Watched him a bit in the past but his hockey content is very bare-bone. He's a good guy though and his non-hockey content on his other channel is pretty cool. The only hockey videos of his I really watch nowadays are the ones about players I wasn't around to watch. Sometimes it gives you a decent idea of how the average fan felt during the time.

Or he doesn't know hockey well enough and/or it's because gets enough views doing the bare minimum.

I used to watch him a lot and actually found his channel when he had a few thousand subscribers. It’s been fun to watch his channel over the years but I have found myself watching less and less. He’s incredibly dedicated to making videos every day and puts a lot of effort into finding stats but as others have said in most of his videos he doesn’t have that much to offer apart from regurgitating stats.

I'm voting no for no real reason. I just feel like taking the field is the safe bet here.

For what he does, THG is perfect. Provides high level news and game recaps. He's never admitted to being an analyst, and is pretty open about his fandoms. His history and story videos are a good time.

My second favourite is Pinholes Graham. He's becoming the Jon Bois/pretty good/chart party of hockey.

My actual answer is David St Louis from elite prospects actually. He doesn't do too many videos but they're actually fantastic. Miles ahead of any other hockey YouTube I've personally seen.

He gives zero insight and just mostly reads box scores or hockey reference. I been wanting to like his content cause he is dedicated and seems like a nice guy but it’s just so bland. There’s always more to hockey then just stats(a big problem on this forum as well)

Exactly this. The Hocking Guy just wastes hours writing NHL.com box scores on to his white board. Dude must spend a fortune on markers.
