Is the Golden Knights' problem Jack Eichel?

If that video is being interpreted as a slight from Eichel against his teammates, I think that's a reach.

Feels more like he was just pissed they lost. I mean......him scoring in the shootout def would've helped Vegas, so I'm glad that didn't happen, but I wouldn't read too much into an eye roll.
His teammates are gathering to give credit for their goalie, Eichel is the only one who doesn't touch the goalie, just turns away and eye rolls. Yeah, you aren't happy when you lost a big game, but stuff like that doesn't go unnoticed.

Nah, that's Eichel. He's real moody. when things aren't going good he's a bit pissy.

You never heard of the Long Island Junior Sabres story where Eichel snubbed the kids after a Sabres loss??

The Jr Sabres kids also had a tourney on the Island. They got VIP tickets and were down by the lockerroom chanting Eichel's name. Eichel came by, saw the kids, rolled his eyes, then went behind a curtain and never came out again. 5 minutes later Kyle Okposo came out and spent some time with the kids. (source of the story is Craig Rivet who was coaching the Jr Sabres team)

There's other stories too. Some even involving Ryan O'Reilly.

It's times like that when Eichel is at his worst. He's not like that all the time. He does have good moments too. But he's super pissy when he's in a bad mood.
Another good story is the interview he did in Buffalo after he got traded and they beat him. Great team guy though.

Would suggest that the VGK is a little different than Buffalo in that they've already got some strong personalities on the team, and the organization has been a very strong one. The point being that Eichel will either fit into the system as the organization wants, or they won't hesitate to deal him. This is, after all, the same organization that wouldn't tolerate Fleury being a diva when he started to sulk over sharing time with Lehner (even if goal suffered by letting the Flower go).
I thought that was just monetary and they went with the younger guy?

Eichel it seems to me is a crap team mate. That sort of thing can be contagious and break a team apart.

what I can't believe is that he only has 9 assists in 31 games even last season when Eichel was playing injured he had 16 in 21 games and was a monster on the PP and the Sabres PP unit got considerably worse after he left. Vegas coach just must be an idiot if he can't use Eichel properly or maybe the surgery was bad for him because he should still be opening space for other players. He's always been a playmaker first.
His teammates cannot finish on his passes whatsoever lol. The Knights as a whole are a mess. Eichel is way down on their list of problems.

Whats the stories about ryan o reily?

As much as I'd love to dunk on Eichel.... I think he may be rolling his eyes to something being said versus in response to the loss itself.

Eichel is a great player but has a major flaws with his maturity and outward reactions. He strikes me as the type of person who in tough times becomes overwhelmingly moody and sarcastic. Not in the good sarcasm way either.

Jack Eichel is a :huh::huh::huh:

He played one year at BU (2014-15) and got them to the championship game which Providence won. He chose BU over the CHL as being from Massachusetts his rights belonged to the QMJHL. Nobody at BU was really upset to see him go to Buffalo as he was a diva.

He SHOULD have played some games at AHL Henderson just to get his timing back and also learn the VGK system but management decided to play him in the NHL and points were squandered and it cost them dearly.

How VGK gets ready for next season will be fascinating.

Eichel is not the problem.......problem is the owner, Bill Foley.

Foley thought he could win a Cup in 5 years

YEAR 1 - Won 13 playoff games
YEAR 2 - This happened

YEAR 3 - COVID bubble hockey
YEAR 4 - THEY LOST TO MONTREAL

YEAR 5 - Heads are about to roll......they are not eliminated yet but when you need Arizona to win in regulation in Dallas :help:

It's going to be tough to deal a $10m player if he doesn't live up to his contract, at least if you want to recoup what you gave up for him. They really need to make this work out. I'm sure Eichel will be better next year after a full offseason of recovery and conditioning, but Vegas needs to sort out their locker room issues if they want to be successful.

Possibly could be the most entertaining show in Vegas :naughty:

After they're eliminated tonight, the cap is going to be their problem. They're already at next year's cap without a fourth line and multiple free agents unsigned.

They put it all in to cheat this year, f***ed that all up, and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Meanwhile Pietro, Martinez, Pacioretty, Marchessault, McNabb are all another year older. Lots of 30+ guys on that roster that they lean heavily on.

Yeah Im pretty happy that Vegas is going to miss the playoffs. I love Mark Stone, but this cap circumvention nonsense needs to end.

It is quite gratifying to see them slipping in their own shit.

They spent too much money on unproven players like Karlsson and Lehner who have been unable to reproduce past success. Pietrangelo was a luxury signing that they could not afford on the long term and then they decide to get Eichel and his huge contract on top of that. Too much doubling down because they made the final on their very first year and it is now costing them.

I still believe Vegas making the final on their first year made the NHL look like a joke

The Oilers will trade Jim Matheson to Vegas for a roll of sock tape.
