Vasy was top 2/3 in most goaltender categories this season and is a vezina finalist. He improved drastically over last season. He had 2 bad games in the series, but was hardly the main reason they lost it.

They didn’t just lose; they got crushed popped. Vassy needs to be their best player to get past Florida. He’s been poor for several playoffs now.
 
Should the NHL have TB and Florida redo their series in case round 1 was just one big fluke?

No disrespect to the Panthers, I'm a firm believer that FL almost sweeping them is a huge fluke and robs the Lightning of truly accomplishing what they’re capable of. I've spent the last few days in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching the bolts rack up a great goal differential and it's just not fair.

If the lightening lose again I will face that the panthers deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to TB and the NHL.

Nah, we lost fair and square. Sucks, but oh well. On to the next season from here.

G1 and G5 were bad, but both G2 and G4 were games that could have gone to Tampa if they had just converted on some very good chances. The end result was bad, but it wasn't quite as lopsided as some are saying.

Just imagine what hell gonna start, if TBL missed playoff. Some people still guess, that Stamkos departure matters. Big mistake
 
If their $9.5M Hart candidate continues to score zero goals and their $9.5M Vezina candidate continues to be below .900 I think they are probably not going to win many more playoff series

Leafs have been owning Tampa for a while.

They were the only team I wanted as a playoff match up

I thought we could choke to the sens (got partially there but the team figured it out).

Panthers, the leafs will have to be a far better team to win. They can't play a bad game and still win while is Tampa they were able to do that in the 2023 series having multiple comeback wins and then in last few reg seasons we had a bunch of come from behind wins.

Vasilevsky has sucked against the leafs core guys for 3+ years now. It was a safe bet to have Toronto over Tampa.

We will see if the leafs team is better and can put out the Panthers in R2.

He wasn't close to as good as Hedman. Several tiers apart.
 
Tampa's getting older. The type of strategy that a team getting older plays is different than one Tampa used to play. Maybe you need a new guy at the wheel, who knows.
 
pretty strange to say given what happened during the covid cups but they missed Stamkos a lot, he was the only one scoring against Florida in last years playoffs

Vasi has been a "Numbers look good but lets in absolute backbreaking stinkers at the worst time" goalie for a few years now. When he was in his prime, he locked things down when they needed to be locked down. Vasi is good for 1 stinker a game.
 
Not ready to write us off yet, as Florida is a terrible matchup for us. But Vasy hasn't been his 2020-2022 playoff self these last 3 playoffs, which has been concerning. I still think we have 2 seasons left where we could sneak in a playoff run, but I think our ceiling is closer to the 2015-2016 teams than 2018-2022 ones.

Nah, the result was the same. This year's team was better than last year's, but Florida is just head and shoulders above us now.
