It looks like they won't achieve anything with current roster. They are maybe a playoff team for a season or two and then that's it, even getting to playoffs will be problematic for them after that.

The NHL isn't designed to be on top forever. They've been on the decline for a while just like how every team that's won multiple Stanley Cups in a short time frame (Los Angeles, Chicago, Pittsburgh) has experienced.

Dumped in the first round 3 straight years is never good, Cooper has been around the longest of any coach and while he’s great, maybe it’s one of those both need a new challenge situations.

Yes. It took this core a long time to win a Cup. They won 2 at the end of their window, which has very clearly closed now. They are still making the playoffs, so a rebuild isn't necessary. They'll retool because they should still think they can contend. It's really just Florida and Carolina they have to compete with.

They are on their way down for sure. Going to be a slow decline as Kucherov/Hedman/Vasilevsky get older and their contracts fall off, but their best years are behind them.

Tearing things down is the easier thing to do. Tampa has a good team, but something just didn't spark this time. Some key injuries didn't help.
When you build a roster, you hope for good luck in the playoffs. Everyone needs it in this league. Maybe next year they'll get it. A few roster tweaks wouldn't hurt, because certain role players were awful. But a teardown? No way.
I don't buy the BS about Vasilevsky being an "average goalie." Please. The core is still excellent.

Always love a "The current playoff format sucks" post. Fans need to be loud until it gets changed back. The matchups would have been cooler, but tough* 1st round opponents are unavoidable.

They probably have to get a hit on defenseman similar to what they got with Hagel to be a real contender for a few more years.
Don't forget. This Florida shut McDavid down in the last Finals. Except for one weird 8-1 game. They shut Kucherov down last year, too. Florida is a fast, tough team with a lot of depth and a good goalie, who also plays man-to-man with the leaders. Kucherov didn't have a single inch of space.

I think they shouldn't overreact to losing to the panthers. With that said they should do some moves this summer to improve because they will need to be better than that to get out of their division not just fl.

People put too much stock in a handful of games. It’s probably more likely to than not they don’t win again but they clearly still could with the right mix of depth players/breaks in the playoffs.

Tampa was mid all year, all of a sudden the playoffs start and everyone considers them some juggernaut?
IMO Florida, Carolina, Washington and Toronto all had a more impressive body of work this year.
Great goal differential but they aren’t the same team they were from 2018-22
