With MacKinnon and McDavid hitting their offensive primes ...it would be hard not to choose them over him. I think it's a tough question and possibly controversial considering sid is a sure fire top 6-10 player all time

or stack the 1st line with all 3?

Canada doesn’t really run lines like an NHL team. I think McDavid, MacKinnon and Crosby will probably all center their own lines, at least to start, but they’ll probably all get similar ice time depending on how the game goes or who is running hot

It depends. If they bring Bergeron they probably play together with Marchand at ES...
You can call that a third line (or a checking line)?
Then on the powerplay you gotta put Crosby/Mackinnon/McDavid together just to say you did.

This. Those 3 will always play together if they’re on the same team, call it whatever.

I could also see MacK and McD being on a line together which means one would play wing, maybe with them splitting faceoffs, each taking on their strong side?

I don't think it'll be controversial. Sid is pretty much an elder statesman on that team and he knows it; he'll play wherever they need him to play, and I doubt anyone will get upset about it.

Xxxxx - McDavid - Mackinnon
Marchand - Bergeron - Crosby
Marner - Tavares - Stamkos
Wilson - Couturier - xxxxxx

Which Bergy and Sid and you're on it.

I was going to suggest Mac on Mc's line.

No, MacKinnon already said McDavid and Crosby were already playing together over the Summer and nobody could beat them.

Crosby and Draisaitl have a similar style so it makes sense to have them together.

I would think Marchand - Crosby - MacKinnon would be their second line.

Huberdeau - McDavid - Stamkos
Marchand - Crosby - MacKinnon
xxxx - Tavares - Marner
xxxx - Bergeron - xxxx

Wherever Crosby, Bergeron and Marchand start, they will end up as the first line, especially when the games start to count
Agreed. On a team like this where everyone is offensively gifted, it is the ones who can play good defense that are sent out come crunch time

Crosby is still arguably the 2nd best player on this team

He's certainly in the conversation. I would rank MacKinnon ahead of him at this stage in his career, but it's not like he's incapable of centering a good Olympic line. Even in their mid-30s, I think Crosby/Marchand/Bergeron is probably a lethal line.

I hope Bergeron won't play with Sid and Marchand so they can play Nova Scotian line Brad-Sid-Nate as a 1st line. But I'm sure he's in. McDavid needs excellent defensive players on his line so they don't suck as one guy cheats defensively. My dream team:

Marchand-Sid-Mack
McDavid-Bergeron-Stone
Huberdeau-Point-Stamkos
Tavares-Couturier-Marner
