Is Seth Jones A Locker Room Cancer?

the fact that KD let it out via powers that he would have a conversation with Seth about what he wants. IE stay with rebuild or go with a contender. with the cap going up maybe you find a taker. you would probably need to bring back some salary as well. So not sure who that is. in his 11 games back his XG were below 40% in 9 of them and below 30% in 4 of them. hopefully he has a conversation with him soon.

I was pretty adamant that retaining for 5 more seasons after this one would be a terrible decision. I'm starting to flip on that. If you "only" have to retain 2M in order to open up some trade destinations that would be interested in him that he would waive for, I think you have to consider it.

But who are realistic options he'd waive for? Wasn't Torts the reason he liked Columbus who is obviously no longer there?

San Jose is lacking defensive prospects and should have cap space. Maybe they're an option?

Even if they don't have the guts to scratch him (which I would disagree with) I think you absolutely have to start by removing him from PP1, and I'd even remove him from PP2 as well.

See if that sparks him at all to put more effort in. If by some chance it backfires, then you have to healthy scratch him from there.

What are you guys talking about? Supposedly? I guess? What?
Here's what Seth Jones said about his recent play:

"I have to find a way to be better. We’re not putting the product on the ice that we want to, and I'll gladly take the blame for that. Supposedly that's what comes with the territory of the contract that I got and I’m willing to stand in front of that. The losing obviously doesn’t help any of that at all and the positive we've been in the last few years but it starts with myself and can only find a way to be better.”

I used to think he just wasn’t capable of playing to the level he was paid. That’s not really on him. Now it seems like he doesn’t even take responsibility for his very poor play.
Anybody follow this Tab guy?

This (checks notes) shit has got to stop. I don’t need to know when you are checking your notes, idiot. Write like a professional if you are one.

Who was the guy saying that Vlasic couldn't eat the minutes and it would be better when SJ got back? It got serious all of a sudden.

In Seth's head he thinks his minus' stuff is mostly from being hung out to dry and he's only made a few gaffes every so often. Seriously.

Pretty sure he doesn't realize his offensive instincts are always a second too late, his playmaking is underwhelming as a result, his shot strikes fear in few and he's screwed up way too many late game chances all of his own accord. Dude's an offense killer.

He's not suited to his role at any cap hit. Even mentioning his cap hit is mind boggling, only fiddy is still obsessed with that, the rest of us are past it. He belongs staying at home, playing the body and playing in a more structured situation where he never has to step up and bail others out (like great D do).

I’m not so sure it was unintentional.

In fact it came across as intentional and calculated like he’s been sitting on the jerk store line just dying to get to use it.
if that's what he meant to say it's even more baffling. for that to be the case i see only two explanations: either he was told to take responsibility but he doesn't feel responsible so he offered this as malicious compliance; or management is genuinely blind to his poor play and their vote of confidence emboldened him to give us this half-hearted and back-handed mea culpa.
