Now, hear me out: I am NOT an Oilers fan and I am not talking about this game specifically.

It seems that more often than not, the Canadian teams get the shaft in the playoffs. I don't know what it is, but it seems in every key moment the Canadian team is the one who gets the critical penalty. Or has a controversial review go against them.

Is there a way we can track this? I am far from a fan of any Canadian team except the one I cheer for. But come on, at some point there has to be some sort of agenda set by the league right? Everyone can see it.

That’s a great case you made. I’m sold.

It's a conspiracy. A day that will live in infamy.

2004... Flames cup run, Flames were shafted by refs quite often.

The last Oilers run I was cheering for Hurricanes and they got a ton of calls.

Canucks against Bruins, again was a Big Bruins fan and seemed to get majority of the calls.

Leafs game 7 last year was cheering for Lightning and the refs shafted the Leafs.

Hmmmm......

There is no bias. Canadian teams tend to fold under pressure. Toronto failing for 20 years is not because of the refs.

If the NHL favored US teams, Matthews and McDavid would not be playing in Canada

Americans don’t even know who Mcdavid is. They just hear LA is in and show up.
Americans that don't care about hockey (most of them) aren't tuning in because there's a large market in play. Most of LA doesn't watch the Kings.
