Is RA ever coming back to Spittin Chiclets?

RA was a host on Spittin Chiclets. Spittin Chiclets is a podcast of interest to some posters here; how so many got to this thread all lost and confused is beyond me, but I suspect such confusion is common in their lives. Anyways, a podcast is like a radio show you can listen to anytime, this one is about hockey. Hockey is a game played on ice with sticks. Anything else I’m responsible for informing you of?
What are you wearing?

Was it ever stated why he left ?

Fans have said for years he didn’t add much and that the show sometimes devolved into them just making fun or arguing with him.

But based on posts here apparently I missed some fun during the last finals. He’s a relatively older guy who leaned too hard into his persona probably, maybe drinking too much or making an ass.

His ex-wife divorced him earlier this year (could be for any reason but I imagine his substance abuse problem was at the forefront, between the booze and the powder among other things) and he just went on a downward spiral. He got shitfaced too much s is, including at public events the podcast was hosting (so think of it as you getting hammered at your companies work event) but after the divorce he got notably worse, with his bender peaking in the finals.

Again, dude was not in the right state of mind begging for interviews from players, all of a sudden deciding he liked Florida again cause they won (he apparently knows the Tkachuk's Boston side of the family, how well I'm not sure) and got called out for it by their players and staff and fans rightfully so. How can you claim to be a journalist and show up to interview guys drunk, wearing a 30 year old Houston Astros hat and wearing a diamond choker. Super unprofessional.

I managed to see him at a nightclub during the ASG weekend and dude was pinned out of his mind, go on the spitting chiclets subreddit and you'll read plenty of stories like mine.

All of this was finely made worse by him going on a podcast with his boss and doubling down, claiming he did nothing wrong. I listened to it recently after hearing about that on reddit, so here it is you care to listen, 25 minute mark.

Literally zero accountability from a man in his 40s. I guess there's a reason why he was a janitor before falling upwards into hosting a podcasts with a former NHL'er. Guy is a boozehound and acts like child.

Quite interesting how the Tkachuk's and Thorton gave RA the cold shoulder yet it was ALSO "Biz" and Whitney fan-boying all over the Oilers during that almost Finals comeback.

I guess the old hockey buddies just get a free pass despite the exact same behaviour. Cool.

Whitney played 4 seasons for the Oilers . Why would anyone give him crap for cheering for his old team (who he hasn’t remotely tried to hide that he’s cheered for for years)? Not to mention that the Oilers had 3 of his old teammates

i mean.. yeah. like any sports league, it's a fraternity and there's a bond shared between members.

secondly - biz and whit are known to be well liked locker room dudes which comes through in their interview work. RA was always comedic relief, drunk fan in the room. SC is bigger money enterprise now, and as it got bigger he fit less and less.

Was he the tummy sticks or whatever guy? I tried listening to the podcast many years ago and that guy stood out to me as really annoying and I never got beyond part of that one episode and never listened again.

Random question, but I’m curious. They still use an audio clip of him for their intro, but then seem to be moving more towards Yandle as a 3rd host.

I get why they would, but it’s also kinda messed up. He’s one of the originators, but then isn’t as popular once the show explodes- dude kinda makes an ass of himself, they say he’s gotta get cleaned up, now we never hear from him anymore. I know he’s not everyone’s favorite, I find him kinda ridiculous comic relief, and was just wonderin how that all resolved.
I remember speaking with RA on twitter a few years ago and i complimented on his weight loss and him looking better. He didnt take it well and sorta cursed me out. I think he's got some health problems unfortunately.

He got divorced and went off the rails even worse than he had in the past.

Some examples of him being a mess after Game 7:

I think he had also done shrooms that night and slept on the beach afterwards? And he bragged about some of this on the podcast. So yeah, he became a bit of an embarrassment and I think the other 2 want to try and act more professional going forward. From what I've seen RA doesn't really want to change.

This is exactly why I do all this in the safety of my own home and just let it all out on HF. Its called 'Personal Responsibility.'
