Things I learned in the last 10 minutes....

Rielly
Gardiner
Dermott

All better than Provorov and top ten defenders

Provorov overrated turnover machine

Where’s Appleyard when you need him.

Provorov is absolutely going to be a true number 1 in the next couple years but he did have an absolute horrible game 6.

I feel like he had a separated shoulder or something.

How does that effect his brain? Everyone plays injured in the playoffs, last year Schultz and Hornqvist were playing with broken bones. Provorov looked like he had a serious concussion

Seems like every time I see Provorov he makes a giant turnover. I watch like maybe 3-5 Flyers games per season though. It's possible he rules in the other 80.

Maybe he gets nervous knowing I'm watching? Because I'm such a big deal...

Almost. Give him a legit partner and he's in the conversation. Cant wait to see Provorov-Sergachev at the Worlds or the World Cup *drools*

Yikes he's so overrated. Turnover after turnover, made 3 that lead directly to goals just this game. In an elimination game as well.
The guy is better than any of your defenceman and is also going to be going forward.

He had a rough game, yes, but it's not like he wasn't an animal earlier when he was healthy.

This is like I'm going into a thread about Matthews to say "He's so overrated he missed a breakaway and Laine scored right after that". You can only dream about having a Dman like Provorov. Defence is his bread and butter but he tied the Dmen goal scoring title. That's how good he is.

Erik Karlsson is a top 10 all around d man?

It’s hilarious. The guy can’t defend to save his life.

Please people read what I said, two way defense man!

1st. You are completely wrong about Karlsson, unless you want to be dishonest to the level that you judge him souly on his first 40ish games this season - where he came back (too soon) from a serious injury and surgery.

2nd.

By your logic, the likes of Messi and Ronaldo would not be top-10 000 000 in the world, rating their overall games they are the best players, but overall (defensively especially) they are both horrendously bad.

Still was the best Flyers dman by a mile. Flyers need to get an experienced 2nd pairing dman to pair with him, or deploy on the 2nd pairing so they can some of the load of off Provorov.

I'd say most of his mistakes were due to his injury/bad luck which I think I'd rather have than Letang who makes bad decisions

Top ten all around.... so basically you know hes not a top 20 D in the NHL, hes not a top 30 Offensive D in the NHL and hes not a top 10 defensive D in the NHL so you try to create parameters for him to be top 10

I feel bad for him, just because Hakstol used him way more than he was clearly able to give yesterday. Through the first 5 games of the series he was arguably the Flyers best player.

He's a #1 D today and could push himself into that second tier in short order.

Provorov was 27th in points and 8th in ES points but somehow he's not a top 30 offensive D? Also, since when is the term all around new, especially when referring to defenseman? That's like saying the term two-way forward is creating new parameters.

Provorov isn't a top 10 defenseman yet but the term "all around" isn't new, especially when discussing defenseman. There are guys like Gardiner, Yandle, and Petry that put up more points but clearly aren't better defenseman.

Mainly throwing numbers in the air, dont get your panties in a bunch.

The term two way is just a bad term when comparing players. Gretzky was bad defensively, so was Lemieux, they are still better "two-way" players than any other players because the most valuable way is the one theyre incredibly great at.

Also, Petry is the furthest thing from an offensive Dman i could think of and comparing him to Yandle is somewhat revolting.

Provorov will be a good #1 defenseman at some point. Where he falls in the pecking order is up for debate.

Can we also please end the narrative that Ghost is anything more than an average 2nd/3rd pairing D, PP specialist.

I'd take Karlsson over Provorov because his offensive abilities outweigh the defensive deficiencies so that makes him s better all around player but there are also guys that outscored Provorov (Petry and Yandle) that I wouldn't even consider taking over Provorov which is where the other side of the "all around" play comes in. I get it, you don't like the term for some weird reason but it's not new and I don't know why you're making it sound like it's a made up term to make Provorov sound better than he is.
