Is Ovi NHL's Ronaldo?

He is 169 cm tall and Barcelona was quite short in general. They had very few tall players. I remember in their heyday they played virtually all corners short. You seem to be talking a lot of nonsense.
Barcelona in their prime, you know when they actually won something.

  • Lionel Messi - 1.69 m (5'7")
  • Sergio Busquets - 1.89 m (6'2")
  • Andrés Iniesta - 1.70 m (5'7")
  • Xavi Hernández - 1.70 m (5'7")
  • Pedro Rodríguez - 1.73 m (5'8")
  • David Villa - 1.75 m (5'9")
  • Gerard Piqué - 1.94 m (6'4")
  • Cesc Fàbregas - 1.80 m (5'11")
  • Dani Alves - 1.72 m (5'8")
  • Jordi Alba - 1.70 m (5'7")
  • Víctor Valdés - 1.83 m (6'0")
  • Alexis Sánchez - 1.69 m (5'6")
  • Puyol (Carles Puyol) - 1.78 m (5'10")
  • Ibrahim Afellay - 1.78 m (5'10")
  • Marc Bartra - 1.84 m (6'0")

The average height of FC Barcelona players in 2012 was approximately 1.79 meters

The top scorer of all time is the most overrated athlete of all time ?

Hes one of the most complete soccer players… speed, jumping, scoring from both feets etc hes far from overrated what a stupid comment Ronaldo is hands down a top 5 player of all time in soccer

Yeah the top scorer of all time in the history of the biggest sport of planet earth, The most CL of all time, The most goal in CL of all time the most Goals in finals and knockout stage of all time , The highest scoring Real Madrid player of all time being the biggest soccer club in the world is an overrated prick because people do not like him personally.

No. He's not. Because in hockey you play against the best players in the world all year. While in football there are no leagues that house all the best players at one time playing on the same teams. Even national teams are the best that that country has, you'd never have the however many best players in the world on the same team because football is far more universal than hockey. Olympic hockey is best on best because there are legitimately only four to six countries with elite players.

So there will always be arguments that guy playing in England/Germany/Spain/Argentina/etc are better than others for X reason.

There's really no comparable because the NHL represents hockey to the absolute extreme. American Football is basically the only other sport I'd say you could compare because only two countries watch it. Even basketball is starting to diversify. There's plenty of Asian league players better than MLB players. etc.

So there's no real argument against Ovi as the goat goalscorer cause he does it against the best players and has for 20 years. Not even fabricated arguments. It's not based on a short tournament either.

That is not even 5'11. Now if you remove the defenders and goalkeepers it's gonna be a lot less something like 5'8. That's very short for a pro team.

He's probably more similar to old Brazilian Ronaldo (aka Fat Ronaldo) because both were absolute dynamite in their youth and then became pretty uninspiring or stagnant (playing style wise) with age.

Ronaldo is not a genetic freak. He is one of the most dedicated player outside of the field in history with his crazy workouts, diet and ability to stay fit. So a workout freak.

A genetic freak I would say: Wembanyama, Bolt, Phelps are true physical freak with insane genetics and if we stay in football I would say Haaland and Adama Traoré are more genetically gifted than Ronaldo.

As Zlatan said, Messi is a natural product and Ronaldo's a product of training. Best way to describe it IMo.

Top football teams (which are numerous in all top leagues) are literally dream teams packed with stars from all around the world, which has 1000x the talent pool hockey does. The competition to become an average Bundesliga player is probably tougher than for the Hart trophy.

There's nothing even remotely comparable in club hockey, particularly with the salary cap, and Olympic hockey is the battle for being the biggest fish in a small pond.

The absolute best players do not all play in the same league. You can make every comparison you wish.

As someone who is from outside the NA & Europe sphere, I started following football from a very young age and it happen to coincide with the rise for Ronaldo and Messi. Ovi when he was younger was very similar to a a young pre Madrid Ronaldo, where he was freak of nature that was fast, big , skillful and had a powerful shot. However what makes Ovi different from Ronaldo is that his ego seems to at least have him admit he isn't that young stud anymore and he stays to his strengths instead of CR's insistence of being the ''guy'' and dragging down his team, in particular with Portugal.

Also one more thing Ovi does not give a f*** about what he eats lol, subway pepsi and coke diet. Ronaldo would rather die than get caught eating or drinking stuff like that.

I will share my thoughts on the Messi-Ronaldo thing here in the spoiler section
Messi and Ronaldo do have some similarities
  • When they were younger, both of them were wide players and were relied heavily on their dribbling alone.
  • At some point of their careers, they started to drift inwards( Messi being the false 9 and slowly dropping back to being the n10 while Ronaldo moved to become more of a regular striker.
  • Both of these players take training very seriously, and they both are gifted but wont be anywhere near their levels if they hadn't trained hard. Ronaldo infamously stayed behind trainings at United just to practice his finishing and Messi when under Guardiola cut down on his soft drink binging and become the mini tyrant he is now.
