To help settle a difference of opinion on the history board.

Would Ovechkin be taken in the top 100 if a hypothetical player draft were to take place right now, just till the end of the year? Contracts of no consequence.

Is he still within the top 100 NHLers?

some people really hate Ovechkin if they saying hes not top 100 lol
I was the other poster and the OP isn't getting the argument right.

What it originally was when Ovechkin scores goal 895 would he be an overall player that would be considered top 100 at the time for a hypothetical 82 game season every NHL player gets through back in the poll.

I further expanded upon that notion with the example of going into this season and what we saw of Ovechkin last season and his age ect...

But of course he wanted to say right now because of the goals and hot start nevermind a PDO of 110.5 and shooting % of 23.8.

I'm not surprised at the poll results because people aren't getting the context from the OP and they are checking their fantasy pools.

Guy was a top 10 player again in the league 20% of the way into the season.
That's not the question though.

Would you really take Ovi for the rest of the season where every NHLer gets thrown back in a total redraft in the top 10?

He’s still a top 100 player regardless of the weird argument you’re making.

Is logic hard to follow?

Disagree all you want but what I laid out makes perfect sense my guess is that most people aren't understanding the question but that's fine it won't be the last time.

Why wouldn’t you? Not following the consequence of the original premise.
So going into this season you thought that Ovechkin was a top 10 player in the NHL?

I mean where would you ahve ranked him even rangewise as I had him outside of the top 100.

Afterall he was 72nd in scoring last year and that's with premium usage and there are Dmen and Goalies in this redraft, I just don't think many people have thought this through.

Logic isn’t hard to follow. However your logic is. You asked his rank when he eventually scores goal 895, but just above you change it to his rank going into this year. You’re all over the place.
#8 is top 100. Deal with it.

Maybe something got lost in translation I laid out my original point then gave a second example that already happened thus the going into season part.

You do understand that in this hypothetical draft, even as the OP presents it, everyone starts from scratch right with zero players.

The offseason example is also really clear.

The hypothetical draft as presented in OP is based on right now. Ovechkin is leading the league with 15 goals and has 25 points in 18 games. He’s also +15 and has been instrumental in leading Washington to one of the best records across the entire league. You’re drafting him for the rest of the year. Why wouldn’t you take him and expect him to be a top 100 player?

Because he is injured, has a 110.5 PDO, 23.8 shooting % and I saw him last year a lot and he is 39.

Where would you rank him for the rest of the season?

Ballpark?
