Or the Sens young elite skill continues shine and they win both games. It’s a young man’s game. Tampa is an older core. Great players, who are aging out. The Sens are a young core. Imo these are two clubs headed in opposite directions. Encrusting, while Tampa is trying to hold on to what they used to have. It's a lucky hot streak, nothing more. A couple of losses to Tampa this week and they'll be out of a playoff spot.

That’s why I suggested some reverse karma maybe, as poster is a Sens fan.Ignore him, he's just trolling.

They're still not good. Just getting lucky against bad/tired teams. Will come crashing down soon.

If that's the case, then you might not see them crash down until next year.
They actually had one of the harder schedule to start the year and one of the easier schedules to close out the year.
So if you're right that they're just getting lucky in getting wins due to playing crappy teams, then that's likely to continue for the rest of the year.
Check out their schedule. Lots of home games against non playoff teams left.
So if they win, are you going to come in and quote yourself and say you were wrong, or are you going to keep doubling down?
Well no, but the difference between Sanderson - Zub pairing compared to TORs top pairing more than makes up for the Stutzle-Tkachuk demotion compared to Matthews Marner.Elite skill? Ottawa has no Matthews or Marner type player.
wow, i live in ottawa and pay much attention to the sens at all as i live on the opposite side of town and its probably faster for me to drive to montreal than the Ottawa arena,
We've seen this show for 6 years now. Occasionally give some false hope then burn out by the end of the year. Every year there's some reason things will be different but they never are.
Ottawa, Detroit and Columbus basically dominating the NHL the last 1-2 months. Why is this ”mid”?they're mid, but mid is more than enough to make the playoffs in the NHL especially the East this year
I'm just looking forward to seeing brady finally play a playoff game. Either he'll be fantastic or a loose cannon, which would also be fantastic
Also lost many games this year they should have won. Balanced out over the course of a season. Good teams steal games all the time.
Stay mad. Threads about Ottawa who is also very good.

You have to give credit where it’s due. They’re playing very well. The core has the skill to be a contender if they supplement it well. I hate it but I can’t deny reality when they’re third in the Atlantic.I wouldn't be the least it surprised to see him have a Matthew Tkachuk-like induction into the playoffs and then after a year or two settle down as someone you can only dream to have there.
He's struggled significantly offensively recently because he went from a pure offensive-cheating/cherry-picking mindset with zero accountability to an entirely defensive-first approach. He's started to entire a heater, recently, though.
However, nonetheless, one thing he will undoubtedly be is entertaining lmao.
This guy right here absolutely gets it.
Ottawa's play now is nothing new. They played this well at the start of the season, sometimes even better. They lost games they should have unquestionably won. Games to NYR/NYI come to mind with Igor/Ilya standing on their heads in unreal performances after Ottawa outplayed entirely. Or when Ullmark struggled immensely against PHI in what should have easily been Ottawa win. Ottawa's success is not indicative of some sudden surge; they have played this good all-season long. They are just finally clicking in all cylinders and/or more consistently across the line-up with familiarity to a solid system.
Hat off to you @RedHawkDown you were one of the biggest criticizers of Senators and our core before but you are giving excellent, objective analysis right now.
Because you judge the whole body of work, it’s not unusual for teams to have hot streaks and come back to earth a la Montreal.Ottawa, Detroit and Columbus basically dominating the NHL the last 1-2 months. Why is this ”mid”?
I am a Leafs fan, and will be the first to say I don’t want to Leafs to play the Sens in the playoffs. Toronto loses this series easily. For whatever reason the Leafs wilt when they play the Sens.Because you judge the whole body of work, it’s not unusual for teams to have hot streaks and come back to earth a la Montreal.
That said, Ottawa is a good team and underrated defensively. Toronto would be an exciting series if that’s how it shakes out.
