Please, can both OTT and DET knock the Leafs into the wildcard so Panthers can demo them again.

Sens’ young core have elite skills. Green has them all playing with confidence that if they follow the system they will be successful. Combine elite skills, and all players buying in and a club wins.
Ottawa is not just good; they are very good.

This statement is far more true for Detroit than it is Ottawa just saying (Gets severely outplayed by every Western Canadian team and somehow still win, and there's no way every single opponent will fumble 5+ grade A chances every game against them, or them scoring on so many non-high danger chances).

I don't think Green is some sort of NHL coaching genius or anything.

He really just has them doing the basic things that all teams do.

The real thing that's being exposed is how bad DJ Smith was as a coach (and how bad Pierre Dorion was as a GM for not firing Smith two seasons earlier).

A lot of people don't want to admit this but what we consider a "good" coach is often just the right guy in the right situation. The right piece for a larger puzzle.

Connor McDavid would be an elite player on any team in the league. For coaches that's just not the case.

So I understand why Vancouver fans are sour about his time there, and why his tenure in New Jersey was short. I really think Staios did a pretty decent job at figuring that despite a less than stellar record, Green was the sort of coach the Sens needed for this moment.

I mean same thing goes for Florida, Tampa, Boston...the Atlantic is all very close together this year. Very sweet of you to only be thinking about Toronto tho, when the Wings are very far down the Leafs rivals list

Nope. They're all overrated because they put up big numbers doing whatever they wanted under DJ Smith. Dorion destroyed the team and it will take many MANY years to fix his mistakes.

They'll be in the draft lottery this year. And since the draft seems rather weak this year, they might even move up in it.

The "bad" playoff teams Sens have beaten in the past 12 games:
Dallas, New Jersey, Toronto, Washington, Minnesota

Sens have played the most back-to-back games in the past 2 months in the league (8 B2B games). Sens have also had the longest road trip in the league this season (9 straight games) due to the World Junior Tournament in Ottawa.

There is always an excuse. Sens haven't had their starting goalie for 6 weeks and have found wins with their 3rd and 4th string goalies from the AHL. Sens were on a 9 games grueling road trip and still found ways to win (btw in the road trip there was 3 back to back games)

Ullmark is going to provide subpar goaltending for a month while he struggles to regain his form after returning from injury. They were lucky to have a rookie goalie, who no one has a book on yet, to step in and be the next Hamburgler.

Maybe so, I guess we will find out starting tonight. Ullmark has missed almost 7 weeks, would be natural that he is rusty.

Aren’t the Sens climbing in their division and are catching up to the leafs? They’re well ahead of Boston now too.

Also lost many games this year they should have won. Balanced out over the course of a season. Good teams steal games all the time.

Stay mad. Threads about Ottawa who is also very good.

Just seems like satire to me, or some reverse karma thing.
Since December 1, Sens are tied for first in the NHL, and that’s with Ullmark missing just over 6 weeks.
Then saying they are a lottery team, is just funny.
