If you have one good season, and one bad season, it is entirely right to question which one is the norm. I agree with you there, so maybe slumping wasn’t the right word.

I was more so pointing out that I’m happy with the fact that we can win games without our top four forwards being effective, and even though it’s not a sustainable recipe I’m glad it’s kept us in the race winning these 2-0/2-1 games.

I've seen you post before and I think you're a good poster in general, but on this particular play Marino did this all by himself. There is absolutely no reason for him to come all the way over to the other side that far beyond the centerline.

Stutzle might be good at drawing defenders, I don't know. 100% agree that he's good, maybe elite, at creating something from nothing. But imo this wasn't the best example to illustrate this particular point, that's all I'm saying

when players with as much skill and speed as Stutzle are coming at defenders it tends to confuse them.

players can't give stutzle too much room and they are also hesitant about being aggressive because he can make them look silly, so a lot of times you see plays exactly like that. where he makes defenders get stuck in limbo and do stupid things.

But point being is they still have enough elite talent to score while playing stingy defense. And they have elite goaltending now.

This is NOT the same Senators team of years past anymore. That much is clear asf after 50 games.

I’ve been waiting for Ottawa to cool off and come back down to earth but it’s time to admit this is who they are. I can’t see them missing the playoffs at this point they are just too good this year. Hopefully they can continue this next season too. I’d love nothing more than to see Ottawa, Montreal, and Detroit rebuilds all flourish and the division turn into a massive rivalry like the old days of Colorado/Detroit/Dallas.

I won’t be surprised to see the senators finish second in the Atlantic. That is a damn good team over there. I think they easily beat the leafs and the Bruins in a playoff series. I am a leafs fan saying this as well.
