Is Ottawa good?

It doesn't sound so easy for them though. It sounds like it's going to be hard down the stretch for them since they get shutout on home ice against..... Buffalo.

But yeah, I see your point. Probably 'easy' for other teams.

Statistically it’s one of the easiest.

You can look them up yourself if you like.

is this a Wings fan trying to troll a team, yikes

Every single year, we are told that both Ottawa and Buffalo are going to finally make it, that this is gonna be their year and stuff, and every year, they f*** up
Same story, every year

They are not "one Ullmark away" of making it to the playoffs

Fact is, Montréal began their own rebuild after Ottawa, and they are going to end it before them
Best shot Ottawa has is if Boston finally fail to make the playoffs, it opens a spot for them (if they can beat Detroit, that is)

Ottawa lack depth, and they also lack top end talent

Ottawa's rebuild officially ended Sep 7, 2021 per their GM declaring: — "The rebuild is done!"

Not particularly great timing for Ullmark's injury on the longest road trip in franchise history.

And the flu.

Oh well, plenty of time left in the season and the schedule gets a lot easier down the stretch.
Yeah, it sucks for the sens, but scoring 10 goals in their last 7 games has nothing to do with not being able to keep the puck out.

Every team is dealing with the flu, it's that time of the year.

The only excuse is the road trip, which was known to be happening for months.

Oh, you think they’re going to shout it from the rooftops? Unless it’s a guy native to the Ottawa area, can you tell me who dreams of playing for the Ottawa Senators?
We’re waiting for your list of half the team, that you made up. You got nothing I see, other than crying.

Tkachuk has to be the worst captain in the league, every night he's doing something braindead. Ottawa should be way better than they are right now.

Always funny when someone thinks if a team had a "better" captain that the team would somehow magically be better on the ice.

The fact that it was known doesn’t change the fact that they had to go on the road trip.

They were back home in Ottawa when then just got shut out by one of the worst, if not the worse team in the NHL. Sabres are so bad, they were recently on like a 15 game losing streak. :help:

Ouch:surrender

Detroit also lost to Buffalo this season in case you’ve forgotten.

You’re really getting worked up about this.

It's OK to admit the obvious, there is a huge culture problem in the franchise. The people in charge have no idea what they are doing. Maybe the years of perceived underachieving is really who they are. A lighter schedule or a short period of time isn't going to help it in any significant way.

This thread shouldn't be this long. Stop defending the indefeceable. Brady isn't the Captain to lead men to be better. The coach is a scrap heap, bargain bin never been. Their GM has done nothing and is all out of ideas.

I like Chabot, I like Sanderson but they really need someone to stabilize them on the top pair and a couple more dmen to be truly competitive.

They have some good pieces up front but weak depth and lack the firepower to compete with the top of the division, the really need one more top 6 and a few depth pieces.

Add that to a really crappy coach....

So much needs to go right to make this team a playoff team and they have so little room for error.

Yeah, they aren't a good team.

I Mean, let us know when you’re team is capable of beating the Wings.

Detroit and Buffalo are unremarkable teams that are majorly flawed, and Ottawa is in the exact same boat. Same for Montreal, Pittsburgh, NYI, Philly. All these teams are about equal.

They win a stretch of games and they are “figuring it out”, they lose a stretch of games and “they’re the worst in the league”.

Ottawa lost 5 in a row, then won 6 in a row, and now losing 6 in a row again. No good team does that. Good teams figure it out. Good teams don’t look back when they get in a playoff spot.

Buffalo was in a wildcard, lost 13 in a row, now 5-2-1 last 8 games.

Bottom line… all those teams are bad, really bad teams pacing around 80-84 points (teams pacing 80 points are BAD). The difference between a good and a bad team is consistency. None of these teams can win consistently. It’s all about winning 10 in a row and losing 15 in a row. This is why you see doomers threads and other “is this the year?” Threads in the same month. These teams don’t learn, quite simply, and don’t have enough pieces or a strong enough leadership to pull through.

None of these teams deserve to be in the playoffs and I would include the Bruins in that category.
