Haters always blind.

Top10 PPG:
Crosby 1*,1,1,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,5,6
McDavid 1,1,1,1,1,2,2
Ovechkin 1,1,1,5,5,8,9,9
Kucherov 1,1,2,4,4,5,8
Malkin 1,2,2,3,3,3,4,6,7,8
Mackinnon 2,3,3,4,5,7,9

Top10 GPG:
Ovechkin 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,3,5,5,6,8,9
Crosby 1*,1,2,10
McDavid 1,3,8,9,9
Malkin 2,3,3,6,6
Kucherov 2,10
Mackinnon 5,8

*Sid played a half season it's absolutely not fair to give him 1st place for per game stat, but hockey-reference give him that, so it was added too.

Look at their best playoff runs, better points per game in a lower scoring era with worse linemates while being dominant in ways that Kucherov simply isn’t.

Ovechkin 11 goals and 21 points in 14 games in 2009, Malkin 36 points in 24 games, Crosby 31 in 24 (but tied with Malkin at 28 before Detroit series where Lidstrom and Zetterberg were glued to Crosby), 19 in 13 and 21 in 12. Kucherov has an impressive playoff career, one of the best of his era slightly behind MacKinnon and Draisaitl and a fair bit behind McDavid. I don’t get those who put him on the level of Crosby, Ovechkin and Malkin to be honest other than considering nothing besides raw point totals.

Ovi's capitals won 3 president's trophies in a span of 8 years as well as a cup. They were absolutely stacked every year.

Not so stacked during his 65 goal season

Putting Ovechkin on a tier with a guy with zero top PPG and GPG looks like a real hating.
That's not "hating". That's called having a different opinion. It might not be correct, but it's just a differing view.

Learn what the word hating means.

Kucherov's best season is 144 points with 2 cups. Ovechkin's best season is 112 points with only 1 cup. He will also have more 100 point seasons after this year most likely and he's only 31. He could have another 2-3, 100 point years.

Even when I calculate for the inflation in scoring, I still think Kucherov's best year being 32 points higher then Ovie's best year is higher then the increase in scoring.

Top 6-7 players of the last 20 years, IMO.

1. McDavid
2. Crosby
3. Kucherov/Mackinnon/Malkin/Ovechkin
4. Shesterkin - could possibly reach the top 5 if he continues his dominance and wins cups.

It's debateable if he's even the best Rangers goalie of the last 20 years.

While I totally agree that it is a great accomplishment and Kucherov will forever be in history books for that, it is only one season where this was done. It's not "generation". It also just happens to be by a winger, I think there's centers that could have done it if they would have played as wingers.

Also I wouldn't hold your breath for the "once in a lifetime"-part. I'd be pretty surprised if it doesn't happen against within this decade.
It will happen this season probably. Scoring is up dramatically. Empty net points are up dramatically. Its all inflated compared to other eras of hockey.

Makar is currently on pace for 141 assists and obviously will maintain that pace and become the first dman to do it, yet still not be "generational".

I don't think Makar will finish anywhere close to 141 assists. Even stating that he will play 82 games during this regular season is quite optimistic.

But there's a chance he'd get to that 100 assists anyway, would be interesting to see the odds of him doing that. I think even those heavily favors the "under" part.

Read my post again, I was referring to Ovechkin being better in the playoffs at his best 😂
Of course he was better. I'm not the one putting him on 6th place in this generation. That's why I'm asking about misquote.
