"Hey Leon, make sure you sign a long term deal, I'm gonna do the same...NOT!"Could be...if the Oilers do not win the cup, you would have to seriously think McDavid may move on......
Yup and im all for it. The NHL deserves to have him in a big market and I want to see what Draisaitl can do on his own.
Hockey fans then and potential new fans coming in. Bettman and owners don’t “deserve” anything if that’s what you initially read. Why does the NHL deserve to have McDavid in a big market? I don’t get this whole “deserves” crap about anything (Canada deserves the cup, McDavid deserves a cup, etc)

To where? If he’s looking for a Cup contender, Toronto is further away than Edmonton. McDavid wouldn’t put Toronto over the top.Could be...if the Oilers do not win the cup, you would have to seriously think McDavid may move on......
It’s funnier when he doesn’t end up signing there.
Kind of like the hilarious Shohei Ohtani buzz in Toronto.
If McDavid wins the Cup this year, then sure there’s a chance he will move on. But no Cup means he’s staying Oiler. The greatest players don’t change clubs unless they’ve won a cup with their original team. Imo McDavid is one of the games greatest. His legacy is everything. And that means winning the Cup with his original team. Chasing a Cup, and winning, cheapens its value and lessens his legacy. Imo that’s how these greatest of the great players are wired. If he does not sign an extension at 12:01pm on July 1...lord help us.
I mean, not everyone can be as prolific as Ottawa in free agency.
And WHY would he choose Toronto? They have way less success than the Oilers.Could be...if the Oilers do not win the cup, you would have to seriously think McDavid may move on......

That would explain why he was crying so much after losing game 7 last yearIf McDavid wins the Cup this year, then sure there’s a chance he will move on. But no Cup means he’s staying Oiler. And his outburst of emotion after going down 0-3 last year too. McDavid (imo) doesn’t see himself as just a generational talent. He sees himself as an all time great, who is in the top tier of those greatest players. To him winning the Cup with his original team is a must. He won’t move on unless he’s done so. Any Cup on another club, without first winning with the Oilers, cheapens that Cup and tarnishes his legacy. That would explain why he was crying so much after losing game 7 last year
No, it really does not. At the end of the day, hockey is a team sport, and the Oilers attempts at building a contender around McDrai has been mediocre at best. He cannot be at fault for that, willing your way to a cup as a generational talent is A LOT harder in the modern era.And his outburst of emotion after going down 0-3 last year too. I agree with you....especially with Marner being gone, Toronto is a declining team....who know....it certainly is not impossible that Conner stays with the Oilers....I think it depends if the Oilers win the cup....And WHY would he choose Toronto? They have way less success than the Oilers.
If he truly values winning over anything else, he will leave Edmonton, but it wont be to go to Toronto. We are just another old team with a contention-window nearing its expiration.I agree with you....especially with Marner being gone, Toronto is a declining team....who know....it certainly is not impossible that Conner stays with the Oilers....I think it depends if the Oilers win the cup....
As fans, we don’t care just so long as McDavid eventually gets a Cup. But to McDavid (imo) it’s different. He believes that to be included with the all time greatest hrs got to win a Cup with his original team. These all time greatest don’t move clubs unless they have that Cup. You can think otherwise, which is your prerogative. But imo McDavid thinks differently that you, me, and almost all nhl players. I’m also saying he not only want one cup but he’s counting how many and comparing his total to the other greatest ever. IMO McDavid understands his legacy is tied to Cups.?No, it really does not. Yeah I could see McDavid leaving for someone else then Toronto....likely to another Cup contender .......If he truly values winning over anything else, he will leave Edmonton, but it wont be to go to Toronto. We are just another old team with a contention-window nearing its expiration.
Has he mentioned this anywhere, or is this just speculation on your behalf? As fans, we don’t care just so long as McDavid eventually gets a Cup. But to McDavid (imo) it’s different. You are buying into the hype that the Leafs are the 2nd best team because they took Florida to 7 games. Got it.Lol do you really think the oilers would have any success without McDavid?
Now put the best player on the leafs and you have a better team than the one that took Florida to game 7 with their backup goalie
