Yes agreed he is a lock.My initial thought was no, he needs more time, but then I looked at his stats.
In general, the cutoff has kind of been 1000 points and he's already hit that (which is what I was surprised at). So based on that, when you include everything else, yeah, he's a lock for the HOF.
He might not even be top five in his own organization. Sakic, Roy, Forsberg and Makar. Let's not forget Quebec with Goulet either.
Best player of all time is a high bar to reach.
Ideally they make a zoomer Hall of Fame for guys like MacKinnon, good player in a soft era
This thread is a gold mine for horrible takes.Id say his peak is the third highest in the 21st century.
In terms of peak:
1. McDavid
2. Ovi
3. Mackinnon
4. Kucherov
5. Malkin
6. Crosby
So yes he’s a lock.

The eye test, stats/honors, and general feeling say he is.
What do you think?
Needs to average 60ish per season assuming he plays until 38-39-40 so should easily do with a few more 100+'s in there.Changing it up.
I think he needs another Hart or win a CS to surpass Sakic.
I think(somehow) Mack is actually kinda quietly catching Sakic all time. He's 626pts behind Sakic right now going into his age 30 season, which doesn't seem out of the question for Mack to pass Sakic in points and their hardware is pretty similar right now. Sakic does have a Smythe which is pretty big, but there's a real chance Mack could go down as the greatest Av which was pretty unthinkable for some time.He might not even be top five in his own organization. Sakic, Roy, Forsberg and Makar. Let's not forget Quebec with Goulet either.
