Is Leon Draisaitl Gonna Break Nathan Mackinnons HART

Helly for Hart, best goaltending season in ages, same stats as Price in a much higher scoring era.

We have seen Drai and Mack produce like this before, still impressive but not the best goaltending season in a decade+
I am also really impressed with Helle this year...would be a good sign for the league if a goalie could win it again.
But still favors my homer vote Drai cause his all around play is on a complete different level than before.

Not that it matters all that much but Drai have one game in hand to catch up too

Also if AM34 can win it over a 120pts+ guy with a 5 goal league lead but being like 20 pts behind then I don't know what to think about it anymore.
I think 60 goals was a bigger deal even 3 years ago. I don't think matthews wins that hart today because we've seen 60 from a few guys now.

But goals are definitely more valuable in a vacuum, and Drai will have a big advantage

Draisaitl is doing all of this with McDavid completely MIA and having his worst season since entering the NHL.

Without him this year the Oilers would be a lottery team.

Seems strange that this year McDavid not even in the conversation.
Hes not mario or wayne.

Lets not pretend drai is doing all the lifting alone. Mcdavid is 4th in league scoring. Which is great help

I'd give it to Drai over MacKinnon this year. He's having the more impressive and meaningful season, IMO.

Hes not mario or wayne.

Yet McDavid has been a Hart finalist four seasons in a row, top five eight seasons in a row, has three wins and six finalists overall.

Gretzky is of course the gold standard with eight consecutive Hart wins and twelve top five seasons in a row. A player is doing something right when there’s disappointment (?) that he hasn’t matched this.

Lemieux’s high of any combination of finalist and top five bids is two consecutive seasons.

You can repeat how McDavid is not Gretzky or Lemieux, but he’s closer than anyone has ever been since, has racked up a run of dominance unmatched by anyone else, and is certainly greater than Crosby, who you’re trying to protect with this chant.

It's not just goals...he is better 5v5 all around, Face-offs, +/-, last time I checked he was around the top of the league in all advanced metrics...GWG he has now double digits....and then look how the ratio of giveaways and takeaways for both is, that's a huge difference...he has also much more defensive zone starts than all the other point leaders...he is just doing it all this season...I could go on and on, just an amazing season.

If you only look at his all around game this year this is one of the best seasons of the last 20 years (since I follow hockey closely)

At this points their 5v5 underlying numbers are pretty similar.

Yeah they are really close...both great players...but just for fun...MacK without Makar 5v5, xGF% 48,36.
Drai without McD 5v5, xGF% 56,33%
That's the difference...and keep in mind, MacK has at minimum Rantanen/Necas while Drai played tonight with Perry/Brown and Podkolzin/RV as his regular line mates...

Offensive zone starts MacK:71,5% to Drai 61%.
Drai is often used in defensive situations, that's nothing major but it's noticeable.

Also Drai with 12 more takeaways and 20 less giveaways...that's a difference of 32 possessions...that's huge.
(Just for Info and not related: Makar with great takeaway numbers and Bouch with lots of giveaways).

What other player has a MIA teammate that is 4th in scoring and is in on over 50% of his points?

What other player has the leading pts getter for a dman on his team? Why is it always McDrai is a product of each other like it's a negative, and never MacK and Makar a product of each other as a negative to their stats? Or MacK and Rantannen/Necas, or Mathews and Marner?
Hell MacK has a LINEMATE that is also in the top 10 in league scoring and the #1 scoring Dman in the league on his team.

Yeah, try harder and ignore everything else...these are actual numbers which are showing how someone performes without someone...and one has/had Rantanen/Necas (both over PPG) on his line and the other has Podkolzin/RV/Brown/Perry as linemates.
One has a Ferrari/Porsche on his line and the other is driving with two Ladas/Opels.

Only if we can do "No Makar point share leaders"
You can't argue with this guy...he is ignoring everything and when you are bringing up actual numbers he still keeps saying the opposite...he is one of these flat earthers who really think it is so and just ignoring physics.
There is nothing you can do...and I still try sometimes and deep inside I know it's useless but it's hard to let go...it could be so easy.

Some of these "Draisaitl deniers" either twist logic into a pretzel or completely disappear when he's having success.

He might get 60 in a year where no one else hits 50, pretty sure that’s never been done in NHL history

Also Mack has been on the ice for roughly 70% of his even strength minutes with Makar, close to 75% with either Rantannen or Necas. Drai has spent 40% of his even strength minutes with Mcdavid and 50% with Bouchard (if you think that's a positive this year). Mcdavid has like 40 gf% away from Drai this year. Anyone trying to discredit Draisaitl because of Mcdavid is coping.
