Yes the guy playing with a top 3 player of all time in his prime that has won 3 Harts himself in the last few years is the most valuable player in the league.
He’s been far better than McDavid apart from tonight. And Makar has been just as valuable to the Avs as McDavid has been to the oilers too if you want to play that silly game.
Drai also has way more goals than MacKinnon so he’ll likely win the hart if their point totals are close because that’s how voters of swayed historically. Matthews won the Hart in 2022 despite being 15 points behind McDavid. If Drai gets 60 goals it’s very unlikely MacKinnon gets the Hart even if MacKinnon has 5-10 more points.

IMO Kucherov deserves it more this season. Tampa is scary again.

Yeah 20 empty nets deserves it all!
Common sense would lean towards putting some stock into there is a reason (the dawg) that the team is in an empty net scenario so often, but I guess not.

Last night as a perfect example. Snipe with 3 min left to take the lead and put the boot down with another empty net after that. We just going to ignore the snipe?

I don't really see how you can make a case for Mack over Leon this season.

Mackinnon: 64 games played, 27 goals, 73 assists, 100 points

Draisalt: 63 games played, 46 goals, 49 assists, 95 points..

Matthews won the Hart in 21-22, don't really see how Leon doesn't win it this season.

At the moment I would rank Draisatl a nose ahead of Mackinnon but near enough to a quarter of season left obviously still time for either or a bolt like a Kucherov to win it.

Feel like Mack would need about a 10 point lead over Drai to beat him.to me that's enough of a gap to overcome Drais significance in Goals Edge

Tough. I don’t really care who it goes to, though I think Kuch should be talked about more after being snubbed last season.

Let’s get one thing clear, McDavid is still by far the best player in the world. MacKinnon even admits that and if you just watch hockey causally, you can tell he’s from a different planet.

It'll come down to the final stretch. Health, points gap (if any) and team standing. MacK losing Rants adds quite a bit to his case IMHO. But yeah, I wouldn't have him winning with where Drai is at in goals at this point. Just like I considered Makar's goals over Hughes when they were at a similar pace. Bit since then, other factors kicked in. Just like they will for the Hart.

Such a bad list and right now I'd have my ballot of 5 like this

Drai
Mack
Helly
Kuch
Want to say Hughes but too much time missed so Jack Eichel
