Is Leon Draisaitl Gonna Break Nathan Mackinnon's HART

And still the only team from wc that mafe it and al.ost only team to come back frkm 3-0 deficit in stanley cup.

Im a blues fan, not an oilers fan. I just find all this stupid ridicule like one goal game being difference between a team being awesome and being joke of a league is trash hockey analysis on level of 12 year Olds bragging about their team.

People just didnt like the lilers. Even if they won, people woukd find new goalposts to invalidate it cuz theyve always been moving the goal posts to complain about mcdavid. First it was not win playoff series. Then it was not make it past 2nd round. Then never even made cup finals and that the teams they beat are trash teams and they have to beat what people consider the legitimate teams which are arbitrary and silly co sidering those "legitimate teams" had gotten beaten by teams oilers beat on their path several time in last few years.

If oilers won, it would instead just be that oilers choked or cup was illegitimate or some other trash.

And im not even an oilers fan

Great players are defined by championships. Fair or not, it's the same for all sports. It's the price to pay when you get paid millions of dollars to play a kid's game. The people paying their salary get to dictate what is important. While it feels unreasonable to make it so different for Drai and McDavid for not having a fluky goal go in for them in Game 7 to win a Cup, there is something to be said about taking advantage of opportunities when they present themselves.

Drai sweeping all the awards is now gonna be a hard one...damn...at least the Art Ross race was fun to watch while it lasted...still a chance to get all the other awards.

A lot of “ifs” and “almosts” in there

He's day to day, he might not even miss tonight's game....though he probably does....either way, it's not like he's going to miss much time, so don't see this as a huge impact on anything.

Lol at the amount of Oilers fans flooding this thread while the writers (aka those who actually vote) have MacKinnon in a landslide already.

Colorado has one recent cup. Edmonton was 1 game from having one as well and have the 2nd most playoff wins the last 3 years only behind florida.
One could argue that Edmonton has an easier route to the Conference titles the last 3 seasons due to the playoff structure.

My only rebuttals to that is Fourgiev.

Edit: didn’t Seattle win more playoff games than Edmonton that year?
I'm not entirely trying to shit on the 2023 Kraken, but you can't complain about Avs having the harder road the last two years when they lost to a wild card team and then a team that the Oilers beat to win the conference.

Oilers get a bye essentially with the Kings every year, then they get the Knights who are weaker than any of the Avs, Stars, or Jets.

McDavid will put up a billion points and lose in the conference finals most likely.

Yeah that damn playoff format causing Avs to lose to *check notes* the Seattle Kraken.
An Oilers fan chirping the avs about the playoff when your current core lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, got swept by the Jets and got absolutely dominated by the Avs is f***ing comical.

As for the thread Drai probably deserves it at this point. Really don’t care as long as Mack gets his art ross

I was responding to someone talking about ease of route to conference championships in the last 3 years, please don't remind me of 2020 and 2021, I'm trying to forget.

Fair but we aren’t all blessed to play the kings in the first round back to back to back.

Fair enough. Honestly would love to see the avs and oilers play again in the playoffs. It’d be like the pens and caps series on steroids.

I'm in similair view as last week..

Draisatl a slight lead currently but if Mackinnon ends up with an 8-10 point lead and finishes a bit stronger he might jump past him.

The end is near...McDrai both injured...and this a month away from the playoffs and still battling for a good spot in the standings...could get really ugly.

As for the thread Drai still the leader I guess, but if he misses more games the point gap will increase and he could really lose all his trophies...I mean they want the cup, but this would be sad if you are playing your career season close to the 30s and you wouldn't be rewarded for it.
But it is what it is, still some games to play.

How fast things change. Stay tuned to the next comment to see if its still drai's to lose

On a serious note, as I haven't heard it discussed much. Does anybody feel like there is voter fatigue among MacK? A voter that voted MacK over Kucherov last year might feel like he deserves less benefit of the doubt this year.

To be honest, this is MacKinnon's 1st potential Art Ross and just 2nd Hart. No, he is far from the voter fatigue category now. Hasn't won enough to be there yet. Gretzky in 1986 not winning the Pearson over Lemieux, well, that was voter fatigue in my opinion. Everything MacKinnon did last year was for the first time. The Hart, Lindsay, 1st team all-star. Even this season is only his 3rd 100+ point year. No I don't think he has won enough for the voters to get sick of him. I still say it is his to lose.

Your team has won a cup recently. Why are you this insecure?

It wasn't just goaltending, that Avs team was ass. Zero contribution from the bottom 6. They were like the Oilers at the beginning of McDavid's career once Nuke went down with that nose injury.

With Draisaitl down, it’s over. Congrats to MacKinnon on his first Art Ross and second Hart in a row. Raises his all-time considerably.

Not "his trophies". Until he wins them.
