Is Leon Draisaitl a dirty player ?

Well for one thing, the tantrum he threw during an interview less than a month ago.
Did you watch the entire interview? He was asked: "What do you think the biggest problem with this team is right now?" He said "Everything." How was he supposed to respond? Was he supposed to answer Matheson by saying "Our goaltending has been our biggest problem and Koskinen sucks?" If he said that you would still be talking about how much of a prick he is. The team was going through an awful slump and he wasn't happy after being asked a stupid question and the reporter kept lipping off at him asking him "Why are you so pissy Leon?" Don't know how you can blame him for getting annoyed!

Really? Bad optics?? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

As if other players in the league don't do worse? Occurrences like this happen all the time. He should get a penalty for the play and maybe even a short suspension, but stop acting like the world is falling apart.

He's just a spaz.

Been two or three times where he's taken the most ridiculous penalties against the Flames. Like going cartoonishly out of his way to trip or interfere with a guy without the puck.

Doesn't seem dirty, think he might just be an idiot with a lack of self control.

A complete disgrace to the sport? Your anti-Oiler agenda couldn't be any more obvious.

By the way, I'm not condoning that behaviour. It's a little dirty, sure, but how many guys don't pull stuff like that at least three times over an eight year span? Anyone that thinks otherwise needs to examine their own biases.
The vast majority of NHL players never pull garbage like this because they're men, unlike this gutless coward.

There is video of Ovechkin doing that once. Once to a guy that was physically harrassing him. Once. There is an iso cam on Ovechkin for every minute of every game. This is a rookie who stole the puck without hitting him. A kid.

So maybe I made a valid point about Draisitl needing to stop being a disgrace to the sport on and off the ice?

Players do similar ***** things all the time. He deserved a penalty and maybe a suspension. "Disgrace to the sport." How much can you possibly cry about it?

I mean the Refs met together and determined it wasn't a penalty

So how dirty could it be

Rearranging another man's balls with a hockey stick is dirty 100% of the time. Unless it's consensual. On second thought that might make it even dirtier :naughty:

But if you want to appeal to NHL officials' pristine credibility go ahead. If there's one thing they're known for it's never getting it wrong.

Gutless coward? What do you want him to do? Drop the gloves like a neanderthal and break his hand on some caveman's helmet and miss three months with a broken hand or an injury from a fight? Is that the type of "leadership" you're referencing in your previous slandering of him and McDavid? Yeah, that's great leadership to put yourself out of commission when your team needs you.

Yes, I did. Maybe Draisitl could have been a man and say that he needs to set a better example and start backchecking instead of floating and spearing guys in the balls. Entirely Divesite's fault there.

Yeah, I expect him to man up and drop the gloves if he refuses to play like a man. You're in trouble if guys like Divesite and McDiver are in leadership roles regardless.

How about not hitting people in the balls with his stick? That would be a good start

The last couple seem more like bad timing hooks/stick checks

that first one though woof.

I guess with the evidence you could say maybe? Or maybe a low key perv? He doesn’t really do anything else dirty.

Wow, ok. Well, that tells me everything I need to know.

Any player who intentionally hits another player in the nuts is emotionally stunted. Even in the realm of hockey violence, it's childish and pathetic.

Big f'n deal. Thats not what we are talking about right now. If Tom Wilson had been the guy that destroyed McDavid, there would be a 40 page thread on the evils of Wilson. LD just cupped a rookie....from behind....for stealing the puck. What a p***y.

No there wouldn't, it was a clean hit. No one thinks what Hathaway did was dirty in the slightest.

And no offense my guy, but comparing some of Wilson's antics to tapping a guy in the cup is a little much. Through hockey pants and a good athletic cup... yeah a poke to the berries is quite unsportsmanlike and going to hurt like hell, the risk of doing any actual damage is pretty much non-existent. Wilson has done plenty of things that could totally ruin guys lives.

that's ironic coming from an Oilers fan. This is exactly what oilers fans expected of Tkachuk when he was running around on Kassian.

Drais and McDavid both have a history of dirty shit, but they’re mostly allowed to do it more than other players.

That's a different situation. Tkachuk was intentionally goading Kassian. Draisaitl wasn't goading the other player. In fact, his stick may have slipped while going for the puck but I don't know for sure. All I know is that it was a minor enough issue that the refs ignored it and nobody on the Caps thought it was serious enough to merit fighting Draisaitl.

but an intentional Draisaitl dick check isn't goading? It is a double standard. If any player is going to play that way, they need to answer the bell. Yes, Drai is a coward.

So, next time someone has an issue with Drai they should just spear him in the nuts?

Quite literally anything else would be an improvement

Worked well for Stutzle and his first fight
