Is Kuch a dirty player?

Yeah he kinda is... Not in the sense that he runs around and throws reckless hits but I guess he's a stereotypical Russian, when things don't go his way he does some really stupid stuff.

One of the Blue Jackets' strategies last year seemed to be to frustrate Kucherov since a frustrated Kucherov takes a lot of penalties out of frustration, frustradedly.

He's a sore loser when he loses, and that's when he has gotten dirty.

I wouldn't outright call him a dirty player, though. Not that I would consider many players that anyways, aside from players like Raffi Torres or Matt Cooke. A lot of players have had pretty dirty moments throughout their career (especially in the playoffs), but because there are rarely more than 3 instances of a player doing something genuinely scummy with intent anymore, my standard for what a "dirty player" is is probably lower than most people.

Kucherov has always been a dirty player. Hedman is dirty too and sergachev is learning from them. Lightning always resort to cheap shots when things don’t go their way. They are sore losers

He's subtly a dirty player. He walks right up to the line and leaves it there. If he wasn't one of the most talented players in the world more people would acknowledge his dirtiness.

He gives what he gets. If you hack and slash him in a game, he takes your number. Sometimes he can cross the line with a dirty hit, but usually he just gives you one back across the ankles or hands.

These aren't random acts of violence. He's giving out receipts.

He seems to lash out angrily, like when he butt-ended an Islander after seeing Point get knocked down and have his helmet knocked off with a legal hit. We ended up knowing Point was hurt on that play but it was accidental so Kucherov's butt-end really wasn't called for. Is a butt-end ever called for?

Those aren’t clean hits. The vatanen hit is an elbow to the face
No it is not, the elbow extends up after contact but it's clearly primarily shoulder contact.

I have zero issue with the Vatanen or the Gardiner hit. The Nutivaara hit is just awful tho...yikes

If when things don't go your way your reaction is to slash and spear, yeah you're dirty. So yes to the poll.

But there are players like that on every team. They're dime a dozen.

Talk about a reach. The only bad hit there is the last one.

first (left feet, shoulder to face) third (trip and boarding) and fourth (lowbridge) clips are pretty dirty

the second one just shows how much of a petulant little shit he is

Losing in the playoffs? Yes.

Otherwise, I can't think of many examples. I voted yes because he does have that playoff trend.
