Is Jackson Lacombe Becoming A #1 Defenseman

Dude is legit. I would expect even better numbers from him next year. If you can sign him for 8 years under 9m id do it in a second. You can tell him playing so long as a forward really helps him out offensively. He knows where to go in the offensive zone to score goals. He can identify when plays are breaking down to get in the action. Hes so comfortable around the opponents net and he has a very strong deceptive shot.

Add that to good size, good skating and good instincts on pk/dzone.

Very well rounded

Obviously some kind of injury has hampered Mintyukov. But I remember in the season opener he not only looked good, he was the best player on the ice for either team, on both ends of the ice.
I'm not sure it's injury that's effecting Minty's game. I think he just hasn't figured out how to reinvent his game yet, at this level, to separate himself.

Both he and Thrun were questionable on whether they’d both bolt after their senior years in college rather than signing with the Ducks. Thrun ended up using his right to say he wouldn’t sign so the Ducks traded his rights for a third. Somehow, LaCombe decided to forego his option to leave and signed with the Ducks. The ironic thing, myself and several other Ducks fans I know, felt like LaCombe was the consolation prize between those two players. So happy he ended up being a solid dude and did right by the team who drafted him by not bolting on them.
