When Vegas beat Colorado, I saw Carter Hart go over to shake hands with all the refs who were all on the ice still. Do the refs typically stay to watch the handshakes?

Not sure, but if something broke out, it would be 10 to 1 in terms of players to officials. So, having them there just in case probably doesn't really do anything unless it's just a couple of players involved.

I reffed Junior.......

With the exception of warm up time, the officials are required to be on the ice at all times when BOTH teams are on the ice. This is why the officials are always on the ice before the teams are on the ice. After the game the officials can not leave the ice until the visiting team is off the ice.

Never noticed them leaving before. But overall have never specifically noticed them staying either. But they do stay and watch.
