is it time to eat crow about Dwight King?

Dwight King has exceeded all my expectations for him even though we're halfway into the season. I'm honestly not even sure we need to go after a top-six LW at the deadline.

That said, would not call him a legit top-six player. A solid third-line LW who also has great chemistry with Kopi.

Can't remember what mud I slung, if any, but I'm glad he's carrying the water.

Crows would be in the endangered species list considering how much I ragged on him.

I think that his ceiling should be 2nd line like he was with Richie and Toff earlier in the season. Did we forget how ineffective that line looked on Sunday vs. the Hawks? Not saying that it was King's fault, I just think he's going to be out of his league against the top lines in the game.

He was always making good plays, the good news is its starting to result in scoring chances and points and obviously having more confidence it snowballs from there on. But he was always useful.

Is Dwight King a light top 6?

Well in the situation he is playing in, with two star forwards he is perfect, because he adds so much to the team. And he does much of the dirty, gritty work.

If he were playing on the 2nd line with say, Williams and Richards, it may be a bit of an issue.

But he is the perfect compliment to Kopitar and Carter.

I was his biggest supporter and he has so far exceeded my opinion that he was not only an NHL caliber talent but also that he would be a solid utility bottom 6er. He is showing his old 20g per skills at the NHL level and I didn't think he would be able to pop in more than 15 per.

I hope he can keep it up but either way it feels good to see him establishing himself so well with us.

I am going to have Dwight's babies

His babies....

I supported him in the offseason and I think he's been great for us, but I don't think he is a "legit" top 6 player. I think he has worked out well with the linemates he has though. I am not sold of it lasting for the long term in any situation as the lines are juggled though. I think he is great as a stop gap and a third line player, but I am not sure I see a yearly 20 goal player in him just yet. Maybe.

Y'all go ahead. I'll watch.

I'm not sold that he's a career top 6 forward, but he's definitely not the guy that couldn't get Cam Fowler's jock strap in a trade that some of you were making him out to be...

True. Maybe a Bickell-type where he really maybe shouldn't be there on talent alone, but "fits" well with two other stars and thus allows a skilled forward to go down to the 2nd/3rd lines for depth.

I think he's actually BETTER fit now than on the 3rd/4th line, so I'll have some crow. Hell, he makes some subtle little passes and plays that other 3rd/4th liners wouldn't be able to take advantage of!

I was hoping he would get shipped out for a bag of pucks. I had no expectations for him coming into the season and he has played out of his mind. The crow is delicious.

Big man with some soft hands, he showed flashes of that in the AHL.

Dwight King was developed the correct way, Along with Nolan.

I was never one that bashed him. I never had a strong opinion on him other then "Man, that dude looks super creepy"

When he started getting moved up and played more I figured Sutter is better then me at hockey related everything and waited to see.
Damn he looked good tonight, and has be proving Sutters faith for a little while now. I don't know if this is the start of his meteoric rise, where he will end up or what he may be able to be... But I'm pretty damn happy having him in the top 6 right now. Hell he doesn't even look as creepy as he used to.
