Is it just me or is AEW starting to feel like WWE's feeder system?

I wouldn't say much different, not as cartoony but still pretty similiar and maybe that's what's best for the company. As a fan though, I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Black and Gold which was one of my favourite eras for any company/brand ever.

I dont think it ever can be. Black and Gold NXT was overloaded with ready made stars fresh from Japan, TNA, or the indies. Was just a different beast

Also completely unsustainable once AEW came into existence. Talent was purposefully trying to stay in NXT to avoid Vince and a bunch of them jumped ship the first moment they could for greener pastures.

Current product is largely developmental talent with a sprinkle of more ready made talent, and the ready made folks aren't sticking around there nearly as long as Black and Gold folks did.

Its also a very campy show, which is understandably an acquired taste, but some people definitely enjoy that.

I do think the work rate is really solid, especially for how green the talent is. The PPVs especially. The women stand out a lot, I wish the other shows booked their women as much as NXT does.

A lot of this is pretty normal when you have multiple big companies with talent moving back and forth and taking what they feel is the best overall offer to what they want out of this profession.

It wasnt that long ago that AEW successfully out bid WWE for Mercedes, Okada and Ospreay.

There will also be young talent from the WWE side that will probably jump to AEW over the next few years as well since there won't be room for everyone and some of them will believe they have a higher ceiling then how they are booked.

What's actually a talking point is how all the rest of the wrestling companies have seemingly turned into feeder programs for WWE and AEW.
There’s people they are outbidding WWE for and still not getting. Shawn literally told her good luck in AEW they weren’t matching the money, and she had to change her mind at the last minute. This after the whole idea of giving her a second match with Mercedes was to warm her up for their roster.

Who? Vaquer?

That was definitely a fumble by AEW. She is someone that was worth going all out for. Rare talent that just has insane natural aura.

But with their close relationship with CMLL, I really doubt that is going to happen too often with talent from that promotion.

Yeah that’s who I’m talking about. Strange to think right now that they could’ve given a shit whether or not they got her.

Her goal was always to get to WWE, the only "fumble" was by CMLL having her go on a platform where she got noticed by them.

That's supposed to be NXT but It's starting to feel like that's what AEW has become.

Yeah you got guys like Shelton and Lashely and Edge jumping to AEW but.

Cody
Punk
Ethan paige
Ricky Saints
Jade Cargill
Penta
Rey Phoenix
Mariah May

And I know I'm missing some.

It feels like AEW has become a feeder system for WWE over the last few years
Cody and punk don't belong. There were WWE guys long before they went to AEW.
