Is it just me or is AEW starting to feel like WWE's feeder system?

Very much this...

It's weird the AEW reddit page, I know not really a great barometer, but one we have, is the amount of posts lately saying that the OP is a WWE long time fan burnt out on the recent product and have liked the AEW direction.

Let's see if upcoming ratings see an upward trajectory...just interesting to see those type posts

I'm being talked about on the AEW reddit page?

What?

Link?

You do know that ended ALMOST THREE YEARS AGO? It's Silver & Black now. If you don't, then I really have to question when was the last time you watched.
Yeah I know that, you asked when the rebrand was and I answered. Silver and black is also still basically the same as 2.0 unless it's drastically changed in the last six months. Are you seriously trying to argue that NXT is anything other than a feeder system for Raw and Smackdown? If not then what is your point?

Lol, I think he meant the OPs of various threads on the AEW Reddit page are saying they are long time WWE fan who are burnt out on the current WWE product and have liked AEW's recent direction.

edit...three posts at almost the exact same time, lol, anyways I was replying to "I'm being talked about on the AEW reddit page? What? Link?" and Fro beat me to it

It's really just Jade and Mariah. Even though there was a lot of meat left on the bone, Punk was untenable to keep. It was time for the rest to move on for creative reasons.

Anyone stuck, like Starks for example, should explore their options and see if they can leverage being a new hand elsewhere into a better spot. Saraya may be next; Tony lost interest in her as a world title contender a long time ago.

Younger talent (like Mariah May and although not young, Cody in a way too) is gonna make a name for themselves in AEW and then jump ship because WWE is WWE, it's what they all dreamed about, it's playing for the Yankees. Some may stay and it it'll work out well, others may hate it, get stuck in the mid-card/catering, or be released and come back.

Mid-card talent is always going to yo-yo back and forth.

AEW was able to keep MJF and sign guys like Ospreay/Okada/White who chose the character freedom and schedule over WWEs.

AEW isn't the shiny new toy anymore and has been around 6 years now. The flip flopping is going to happen. While it'll never be the Monday Night Wars again, it existing is good for the business.

Other side is we have no idea about the legit behind the scenes...just like hockey, what type of tampering is happening, is talent refusing storylines or is it Tony not giving anything worthwhile....

It's all idle speculation on our end...and maybe what both sides want, who knows

Another point you made me think about...I am a bit flabbergasted about Cody going back with how Vince treated his dad...and making him and his brother into comedy acts...and ruining WCWs heritage...that may never make sense to me

Maybe he saw the writing on the wall with Vince? Or could have just buried the hatchet. IDK.

It's been much different for almost two years.

She's already left the company and seems to be done mostly with in-ring wrestling. She said she wouldn't say no to going back to WWE but it would be in a non-wrestling role.

I wouldn't say much different, not as cartoony but still pretty similiar and maybe that's what's best for the company. As a fan though, I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Black and Gold which was one of my favourite eras for any company/brand ever.

I mean, you are 100% right...he just won't comprehend the not pro WWE comment

I know it's one tiny part of your post and at the time they signed with AEW it is accurate that the WWE schedule had three or four dates per week for each brand. With WWE's recent change to only have TV and PLE events that would put them more or less on par with AEW, especially given the low number of matches at the PLEs. Maybe in the future someone who would have stayed with or signed with AEW because of their lighter schedule will end up in WWE. A decision that seems more likely to be financial in nature to increase their margins may make the company more attractive to talent.

If you want to try your hand at acting, AEW can’t offer you the visibility.

I mean...I don't think that is true lol MJF is actively attempting to break into acting. Over like 40 years WWE has had a total of like...3 or 4 wrestlers break out into main stream movie stars lol Mariah joining an agency doesn't put her any closer to movie stardom.
