Post-Game Talk: Is it a cruel irony that PDO was created by an Oilers fan?

Skinner is not a starter for a contender but this team will use the excuse of "he got us to game 7" until we're out of McDrai's primes.

I also don't trust this forward group as a whole. Nuge's play has fallen off a cliff this year, Skinner has not found a place in the lineup, they were counting on Henrique-Janmark-Brown 3rd line and aside from Brown, the other 2 have been 4th line level. We've lost speed, bottom 6 scoring, and aside from Podz, nobody hits. Mcdavid, Hyman, Perry, and the Drai line are the only ones earning their keep this year. I don't trust this forward core, especially the bottom 6, in the playoffs.

We found Debrusks secret burner account. To his credit not even Skinners main defender here is defending this shitshow lately. Still one though.

Every goal Skinner looks bad in this game. This was a shutout game for a reasonable starter.
For some reason on the first goal, skinner has to reload his skate onto the right one to push left, why was he so loaded on his left skate, was he about to push into the corner?

Oh you mean the goal where Bouchard (instead of actually clearing a lane) was square dancing with the Caps forward in front of the net.
That apparently was irrelevant.
Gotcha.
You mean the goal where Skinner never tries to look around the screen and then falls down awkwardly looking like he's never played net?

That goal was so bad that you're the only one trying to defend it right now.

They had goaltending, we didn't
Not sure I agree on this one. Thompson was leaking rebounds all night and we just weren’t getting there at all. Meanwhile they have one come off the post and both our D just coast behind the net to give them a free goal.

Right...Bouchard played that perfectly. Its all on Skinner.
Im getting it now.

The 60 foot wrister along the ice for the second goal.

Once again, is skinner never expected to make a hard save in his life?

You're embarrassing yourself at this point trying to defend this fraud.

THE OILERS GAVE UP 14 SHOTS.

And by the way, the analytics show Bouchard had a positive impact on the game, unlike this fraud with a moustache in net.
I swear it is mindboggling how far people go to defend him. They must hate the idea of winning a cup/ be family. or his agent lol

We give him props when he steps up (after shitting the bed first like the COL game).

Anybody on this team can be criticized. SKinner just gets it more b/c he frauds it up alot. Not a hard concept.

If this management group is not trying to somehow find a goalie upgrade, they do not care about winning a cup at all. They shouldn't even be running a hockey team.

The truth is in a low shots against game SV% is utterly irrelevant. GA is what matters. 3 was too many. There was terrible defence on some of those GA, though.
So if the defence goes their job and limits chances, save percentage become irrelevant? Skinner was awful, that second goal against should get him out on waivers it was so bad.

Thompson didnt let in any 60 foot muffins though, he atleast gave his D a chance to battle.

The defending by Stecher on one of those goals should and might have him on waivers. It’s not really about quality, it’s about quantity. Ask Dallas Eakins. He was all about high shot counts. He’s probably at the local pub now.

Pickard made around 5 circus stops in that game Skinner can't even dream of. Some amazing stops. Neither of the first two goals was anything Skinner likely had anyway. Wild had a lot of scoring chances in that game despite missing Kap. It certainly wasn't an easy night.

Easy is Skinner getting a shutout against the Kings who don't even believe they can score against us.

And the thing is... Pickard is quite literally a replacement level goaltender that passed through waivers multiple times before we picked him up.

That alone should be damning for Skinner. He's being outplayed by the replacement level guy - statistically, in terms of consistency, and in terms of eye test big saves.

Yet somehow some people are still convinced he's some radical talent. I don't get it.

Are you sure you're getting it?

I think all you're displaying to everyone is that its never Skinners fault and you dont really understand hockey that much.

You know what the goalies job is right?

To stop the puck.

And other teams give up 10 bell chances regularly. It's almost like a goaltender is supposed to stop pucks 🙄

Except when on the game winner
Like people joked in the GDT the players just thought the first shot went in. Not sure I could blame them. Skinner wasn't square on the 2nd goal and lord knows what he was doing on the 3rd. This as mentioned 20 secs after Skinner handed the caps the puck behind the net almost resulting in a goal.

At some point the org has to realize this isn't the starter. Right? Right?

IT WAS ALONG THE ICE 60 FEET AWAY AND HE HAD A CLEAR SIGHT OF IT
lol no he didn’t. He had no idea where it was. Protas was in a battle out front.

I’m more mad about the 3rd goal where two D give up on a live puck and just skate by. That’s amateur hour awareness. No light no horn. Wtf are you doing?

Because Pickard is getting starts against the mighty Blackhawks, Preds, Ducks, Sharks, Blue Jackets, Kraken, Utah......

Of course. Its why I stated we just picked Pickard out of nowhere and he manages to be better than Skinner. Thats an indictment.

He had a good month, that's enough, apparently 🙄

Of course he has no idea, he has no clue on how to look around screens or anything, instead he just falls to the ice in an awkward butterfly making it look like he tried his best.

This guy is either an ECHLer or a NHL starter, no inbetween.

2nd goal he was screened but didn’t get down quick enough. Bad goal to give up for sure. 3rd goal wasn’t his fault at all though that’s a brutal lack of awareness by both D.

Wait, so others can make mistakes, but Skinner is perfect and nothing is his fault?

Its not Skiners fault he let the initial shot right through him? How could he not square up better on that one? The shot beat him, hit the post. Skinner was ill prepared for the first shot and was a beached whale on the Dubois empty net. That was about as clownshow as it gets generally, except I realize we've seen far worse bloopers from Skinner.

Somebody should photoshop that winning goal. Skinner has a puck behind him, broken stick in the cage, put a beachball and a jungle gym in there.
