David Pastrnak has 106 points this season, 43 goals and 63 assists, on a VERY terrible Bruins team.
He has very little help, in fact, the 2nd place Bruins point player is Morgan Geekie with 53 pts.
Everyone else in the scoring leader list has a teammate on/near the list too.

Kucherov-Hagel
McDavid-Draisaitl
Mackinnon-Makar
Marner-Nylander

I wonder how many points Pasta would have if he was on TOR, EDM, COL, TBL, VGK etc...

So is he in a league of his own?

He scored 61 goals and 113 points on a record setting 65 win, 135 point team that ranked second in goals scored with 301 and first in goals allowed with a goal differential that ranks among the highest of all time +127.

The answer is no.

We already saw him with better players and he didn’t score more. I realize he’s been playing the best hockey of his career since the new year, but I don’t think he’d be suddenly be winning the Art Ross if he was on the Bruins of a couple years ago
The bruins have sucked hard ass for 3 years now offensively. Its been Pastranak scoring 105-115 pts and Marchand 40-45 pts behind him the last few years

If he was this good with prime marchand and bergeron he'd be putting 130-140 pts

His 3 year prime is absurdly good just on a really shit offensive team.

Bruins had the second most goals in the league 2 years ago. I get that the offense was spread out, but you’re still getting a ton of zone time. I doubt he’d be scoring 25 more points just because he’s playing with a better Marchand. I think the point totals of elite players are a lot less impacted on those around them than than assumed.

Two seasons ago he was on the best team in the league and had 9 more points than he currently has. So I'm going to go with, 'Pastrnak is very good and a top 10 offensive player, but not the best.'

No. There are better guys at creating goals and making goals. But it’s nice that you artificially contrive this “team played for” dynamic. MacKinnon, Kucherov, McDavid, and Draisaitl do more for their teams. Let me ask you this. Does Edmonton have a Swayman or a McAvoy? And how has Rantanen been away from MacKinnon? Weak sauce.

David Pastrnak IS the team's offense, and he is now the team leader as the only guy wearing a letter as a veteran and the de facto captain. Not sure any other player in the league does more for their team than Pasta does for his Bruins, regardless of the team's place in the standings.

Putting Nylander as the Leafs other scorer because Matthews missed 15 games is odd, he doesn’t even play with Marner so how would that help Mitch.

In terms of point scorers... Top 10 Easily.

22/23 - T3rd
23/24 - 5th
24/25 - T3rd

He broke out as a young player with Marchand and Bergeron at their peak. He's peaking by himself currently. His wingman is Morgan Geekie. Not even the good Geekie.

I agree not "the best", but makes you wonder what could be if his peak were to align with another. Certainly no Mackinnon/Rantanen, Marner/Matthews, McDavid/Draisaitl, Kucherov, Point. etc.

He's the highest paid player on a last place team. Why shouldn't he be be contributing more than others on the team?

His ppg is 1.29. McDavid 1.50, Kucherov 1.57, MacKinnon 1.47, Draisaitl 1.49. Pastrnak has played every match this season, which skews the numbers somewhat.

Still very impressive, of course.

He’s not wrong in that they are an elite regular season team. 106 points with a game to go and 8-1-1 in their last 10 with multiple shutouts looking very tight defensively.

Stolarz missed a good chunk of the season so more than likely they would have more points and challenge for the presidents trophy

However nobody cares and it’s what they do in the playoffs that matters

I feel he never gets the attention he deserves. Next to Matthews, he’s the most proficient goal scorer for quite some time now. Meaning he makes the most of his minutes. Also that you can consistently count on him being in the goal hunt year after year whereas some others are a lot more boom or bust.

Ovechkin scored 50 goals and 100+ points playing with Chris Clark.

Linemates generally don't seem to matter that much in hockey. You might get a 10 point boost with better linemates but guys generally seem to score what they deserve.

I'm in this camp as well. Elite players will still be elite regardless of who they play with. It's the C to B+ level guys that seem to get the most benefit playing with better linemates.
