I was going to use Brian Gionta as another comparison. This is such a weird comparison. Is it because they're both short?

Okay can we lock this up, now we know this pure trolling from a fake accountHe will be forgotten about in the future. He looks like a modern day Alexandre Daigle.
This isn’t trolling. I don’t know why I’m being called a burner. I have no idea who you’re talking about.Okay can we lock this up, now we know this pure trolling from a fake account
Location : MinnesotaWonder who the burner account belongs to?
Sad state for this guy
Point was from the start an excellent 200 foot player. Offensively Bedard might get to be like Point. But he’s a long ways away from being defensively like Point. IMO Bedard will always struggle defensively as a centre. He should play wing.I agree with you. To me, Brayden Point is his ceiling.
I agree, he plays like a winger. He's always looking to shoot. He's really poor defensively and doesn't have barnburner speed. I always felt he was overrated - even in junior.Point was from the start an excellent 200 foot player. Offensively Bedard might get to be like Point. They have noone else to even make that possible even if people believed it to be the best option. They need to find a way to bring in talent and an overall more accountable enviromentPoint was from the start an excellent 200 foot player. Offensively Bedard might get to be like Point. highly speculative, attack the argument not the poster100%. I have my suspicion but I'll keep my thought to myself.
In the meantime, to the mods -- I'd ask you to look at this person's IP address and then consider permabanning both this and also his / her main account. I'm sure it's against TOS to troll in the main boards, and if isn't against TOS to make a burner (specifically with the attempt to troll), it probably should be.
Imo, these types of threads make the site significantly worse. Up to you all whether you want to take action on this (and what kind of action you'd like to take).

Crosby and McDabid had more support. McDavid is on the worst team in the leagueGuys like Crosby and McDavid won the Hart and Art Ross Trophies at his age. There is no comparison.
And people will bring up Nathan MacKinnon not becoming a superstar until a bit later in his career, but MacKinnon has easy size, speed and strength advantages.
I think the Hawks would be ecstatic if Bedard becomes as good as Tavares.Bedard is starting to look more and more like the modern day John Tavares...
You can’t win a Cup with a Tavares tier player as your best player and as the face of your franchiseI think the Hawks would be ecstatic if Bedard becomes as good as Tavares.
Agreed. But there are lots of years left in Bedard’s career for the Hawks to find star players. Heck, maybe Bedard does like Tavares and jumps ship to a team with stars his first chance? You can’t win a Cup with a Tavares tier player as your best player and as the face of your franchise
