Not sure if he even wants to continue playing, but is there interest in Blake Wheeler from any teams? I think there was a bit of talk from Boston earlier this season but nothing materialised. He should still be a serviceable bottom-6er though.

He looked cooked last season before the injury. Wasn't the fastest skater but appeared to have no gas in the tank.

He can still rip the puck and know where to be to get a high percentage shot, but his legs are gone.

Can't cover ground to be a trusted bottom sixer. And to be in the top 6 you'd have to have line mates that do all the work and a well-above average Defence pair backing up the line.

It's a shame but his athletic ability can't match his still usefull skill and IQ.

I was just looking him up the other day to see what was going on because he hadn't made any official announcement to my knowledge. Had no idea he got injured to such a degree that people figured it was career ending. At his age, he's probably done. You don't just pop back into the swing of things half way into an NHL season at 38. Guy was a great player in his prime, I wish him the best.

If he IS done, would that leave Kane and Bogosian as the sole remaining Thrashers?

(and Chiarot, technically, although he never played in Atlanta)
