The Calder is the only trophy aside from the Masterton that only matters in the season that it is won. Panarin is a HHOF talent, but he does not have the cups and major trophies to get in comfortably as of right now.

John Leclair and Rick Martin as well.
But he's obviously trending into clear HHOF trajectory and unless his career is cut short very soon he will be a completely uncontroversial inclusion.

He will have to continue his "prime" scoring pace for a number more years. Adding to his hardware collection would help his case as well. I don't think he's quite there.

It depends on how he ages.
If he plays 8 more years and puts up 100 points 3-4 more times, you're looking at around 1,400 points, and that's being conservative on the back half.

4 more seasons of panarin gets him around 1000 nhl games. He likely has well over PPG. 4 postseason awards minimum. The top player on his team throughout his prime. Id say he is in rather easily even if he's not great for the rest of his career. There has been pretty much no best on best international completion throughout his career so you can't even factor international play in with him, nor would you be able to consider it for most of his contemporaries.

Since his rookie season in 2015-16, Panarin is 5th in the entire league for points scored.
Hall of Fame voters typically look for periods of sustained dominance which Panarin has already provided over 9 seasons. From this point on, Panarin could have 50-70 point seasons over the next 5-6 years and he would be voted into the Hall...maybe not on the first ballot, but he probably wouldn't wait too long either.

Surprised at the responses that are dismissive of his chances and at the same time I think it’s unlikely he has multiple 100 point seasons after age 32. Honestly even one more 100 point season and either a 1st or 2nd AST selection along with a few more decent seasons of 60+ points should be good enough to get him serious consideration.

Going to bump this thread cuz I’m a huge Bread fan. So after accumulating 120 points last year and on pace for PPG this year (maybe 90 pts), he probably won’t secure a 1st or 2nd AST. Those will go to Kyle Connor and Jesper Bratt unless Panarin goes on an absolute binge and drags NYR to the playoffs.
Currently at 860 career points. If he gets to 1k points then I would say he has a fairly good chance at getting into the HHOF. If he can compile points up to 1100 then he’s almost a lock and 1200 points would guarantee him a spot. It just depends on how much longer he wants to play

He has 1.156 ppg now, good for 20th all time 0.001 more then Matthews 0.009 from MacKinnon

No but he's very good at the game. I was gonna compare him to Markus Naslund, but Naslund was in the league younger and had a higher peak

Naslund was ppg only 3 seasons while playing more seasons then Panarin, meanwhile Panarin has 8 seasons above ppg...

True I guess, but Panarin has been the number 1 offensive contributor on every team hes played for besides Chicago.
I think Panarin has a better chance at making the HOF over Naslund.
Panarin is agile and will continue to produce barring an injury considering he doesn't play physical.

Panarins playoffs won't do him any favors. Decent number of AS selections but at by far the weakest position.
If he retires today? No. Will he by the time he retires? Probably eventually. He'll hit some career benchmarks even if he's done being a top tier player.

No. He’s put himself into being a reasonable consideration, but he’d need several more near and above 100pt seasons and an impact playoff run…or a cup he was a significant+ contributor towards.
