I presume that English is not your first language, so here's a helpful clarification: someone being "honest" means that they say what they truly believe. This is distinct from someone saying something you personally agree with.
For example, I am being honest when I say that I believe Werenski to be a better prospect than Nutivaara. We disagree on that, and that's fine. That is not me being dishonest; that is me disagreeing with you.

I think he is saying they would not make good car salesmen because they are honest. That is the way I read it, but admittedly, I just saw a commercial for 'Liar Liar' recently.
