Injury Thread '24-‘25 (Post 1 has current injury status)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
FFS. Flying to Las Vegas from Switzerland to catch the Oilers game on April 1st (my first live game since 2019). Bought a brand new Draisaitl jersey to wear. What an absolutely bummer that neither Drai nor McDavid are going to play.
Sounds like Draisaitl is a maybe for the Vegas game but McDavid is unlikely.

TBH I do not think he was going to get it anyway, MacKinnon is getting it. A pole was taken among a whack of sportscasters a couple of weeks ago and MacKinnon won handily.
The Vegas odds were in favor of Draisaitl winning the Hart, but now he's dropped below both Hellybuyck and MacKinnon. That, and the Ross, is unfortunately lost.

Depending on when he actually returns, the Rocket may be in jeopardy as well.

If he does not play again this year the Rocket Richard would still be very likely his. Nylander would have to score 10 goals in his last 11 games.

That's still quite doable. Knowing that Draisaitl is out for the season (if that's the case), Nylander (along with others that are relatively close) would try harder, shoot more, and seek more scoring opportunities (i.e. being put out with the empty net), which would thereby increase his odds of winning.

However, if Draisaitl does return in the next 3-4 games as Knoblauch indicated, the point is likely moot.

I think he also suffers in Hart voting from “he plays with McDavid” syndrome.

Oilers players have to be heads and tails better than their peers to win the Hart, otherwise it goes to someone else with “reputation”

Guess they’ll re-sign him as an RFA then. Intrigued by the player, probably a 7D but big, cheap and right shot (IIRC)

Sure. But he has never done this before in his career so I'd say it is not likely.
Fore sure, it's a big ask and very unlikely. I'm just saying you never know, and he definitely has the skill tools and the support. I never thought Hyman was capable of 54 goals either.
