Sorry to chime in on the injury thread… but isn’t everyone reacting to a tweet that went out at 5:52pm… as in end of first period… as in this was “off the cuff” and not post game

Not saying it’s not a high ankle sprain (or whatever else) but this seems to be a comment that everyone is taking as late last night new information?

Who knows? Frank Seravalli said today two weeks minimum is what he’s expecting, but it’s all speculation. I just post stuff that’s out there for public consumption for the forum for the injury thread.

By the way, and with all due respect, you have a disgusting forum name.

Whatever the injury is I hope Mcdavid doesn’t rush coming back. The team should be good enough to stay in the hunt until then.

If a mediocre (by his standards) McDavid is the difference between them being a contender and a playoff team, they weren't good enough anyhow.

This is a sport that relies more on the entire team than almost any other (especially with the push for league parity / parody to give scrubs more opportunity to obstruct and interfere to level the playing grounds).

It's a lazy and tired (outsider) narrative that this is a one man team. One man teams don't make the Conference Finals twice in 3 years and don't make game 7 of the Finals. Unless that one man is a f***ing goalie or some shit, maybe.

This will be a blessing in disguise. Not that the team is better without him or I want him injured but it will force the players to get back to basics. 3-5 games isn't be all end all anyways......unless we only win one, in that case, we're f***ed lol.

The Team has had a rough start and the penalty kill that was incredible during the playoffs disappeared. The whole team seems out of synch for some reason. Maybe McDavid's injury will cause them to recalibrate....

At the very least it forces them to break up the top line.

10 games in and neither RNH or Human have scored a goal off a McDsvid feed, It's borderline impossible to imagine.

Islands in the stream.
Apparently Columbus another place without an airport. From reports Connor didn't even arrive back in Edmonton by this morning. Thus taking longer to get assessed, results back etc.

Not liking the sounds of this. Is it an aggravated condition he's been playing with and something likely to get aggravated again without rest? The way he fell extending his legs out seems like its an injury that was ongoing and that he was protecting his lower body doing that. I know people have speculated knee or ankle.

What I wonder is when he comes back how good to go that will be. Hasn't been 100% to begin with. I suspect any disclosure we get will be minimum information and only time table for return. Which is the responsible thing for them to do, but as fans we just won't know much.

He flew to Nashville with the team and chartered to Edmonton from there. Getting an immediate rapid one way international charter with no notice from Columbus may have been problematic.

As for the injury according to my Internet PhD of Medicine and Body Language it’s not looking great.
