I'm trying not to laugh because if this was happening to the Ducks I'd be ******, but it's getting comical at this point. What's happening in Columbus that destroys everybody's abdominal muscles?

Serious, what the heck is happening...

I wonder if with a team that's trying to improve and players who want to take the next step, are they severely overtraining in the off-season? Generally, groin and abdominal strains happen due to muscular imbalances. But core stability is a big focus for strength and conditioning. They aren't weekend athletes sitting at a computer all day and then trying to play sports on the weekend. If they're overtraining to get stronger hamstrings/quads and abdominal muscles, and it's pulling their pelvis out of alignment, then maybe that's the cause for all the abdominal tears and groin injuries.

Fact: the Jackets have had eight similar injuries in the past year and a half

Question: How long has Jarmo been GM of the club?

Coincidence?

Of course, I and others know nothing about the training methods of the club, but doesn't seem a little strange??? Especially when Jarmo sought to ramp up the conditioning level of the club in the offseason when he took over.
I will leave it to others to look up the quotes that Jarmo made to the Dispatch regarding off season conditioning.

All I am doing is pointing out that these injuries have happened on Jarmo's watch. I do think that the training in the offseason has a great deal to do with what is happening. You don't see other teams with this same type of injury where it affects eight players in 18 months

Season's trend is abdominal surgery and long term rehab. Surgical ward's support 24/7/365 :nopity:

ps I don't wonder if Johansen played ( or was forced to play :() last month through minor injury

Unnecessary surgeries/treatment/physical therapy as a way for Nationwide to get more money? Penitentiary jinx?

Assigning numbers to the letters CBJ gives you 3210. Coincidence?

Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd
Letestu was close to returning from his original groin strain when he toe-picked while skating, #CBJ GM Jarmo Kekalainen said. ...

Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd
That caused tear to groin and abdominal muscle, but Letestu was still set on putting off surgery. But lack of progress changed plan. #CBJ

Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd
Letestu's surgery included repair to "chronic condition" on other side of groin area, as well, Kekalaienen said. Not unlike Dubinsky. #CBJ

Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd
Kekalainen: "You could see it when he was trying to skate, that he wasn’t progressing. It just wasn't getting good enough." ... #CBJ

Shawn Mitchell @smitchcd
Kekalainen: "They had to basically reconstruct the one side completely, where the (muscle) was pretty much torn off the groin." #CBJ .

Well that sucks

Kekalainen stressed that preventing groin/ab injuries is something club can do better. But Letestu's latest a "freaky" thing, he said. #CBJ

Where's Trapper John and Hawkeye when you need them? This is certainly like an episode.

Why? We're doing just fine without a concerted effort to kill off whatever morale exists on the team. Let's not get the kids into bad habits like they do in Edmonton. If there's karmic justice in the world, it'll work out.

Well, with Arty and Letestu our for a significant part of the foreseeable future, I think it goes without saying the Jackets need to make a trade for a Center.
Anyone interested in Vinny Lecavalier? He's a healthy scratch for the Flyers tonight, they appear to be really frustrated with him, and Lecavalier probably isn't pleased with the 4th line minutes he gets anyway when he plays.

So, something like Erixon for Lecavalier? Neither are getting playing time, but both are capable. It also fills both teams' needs. Flyers need a mobile D-Man. Jackets need a C. Thoughts?

Seriously? Heck no. Rentals only. Vinny's contract would be murderous.

I would not really want to get stuck with his contract, even if it isn't as bad as his last one that got bought out. Also, he has a NMC which could complicate things.
